Excess flow valve (EFV) option
The excess flow valve (EFV) is a safety device that blocks the gas flow if the flow rate is >
110% than the target value of the pressure regulator. This can be caused, for example, by a
burst pipe or hose.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE EXCESS FLOW VALVE (EFV)
EFV – Excess Flow Valve
Name for integrated excess flow device according to EN 16129.
If the UPSO or EFV responds, the gas feed can be restored again, the gas flow is restored
manually when the conditions that triggered the safety device are no longer present by
following the steps in "Restarting the OPSO / UPSO or UPSO / EFV with visual indicator".
"UPSO" and or "EFV" are marked on the type label of the pressure regulator.
Pipe dimensions
To ensure that the pressure regulator functions as intended (UPSO and EFV), the following
dimensions are recommended:
• For a flow rate of 6 kg/h:

If the pipe cross-section is smaller or the length greater, the functions of the pressure
regulator are no longer guaranteed.

Test connector option
A leak tester can be connected to the test connector for pressure and leak tests. First, loosen
the set screw in the test connector. When you have used it, tighten the set screw again and
check for leaks again. See LEAK CHECK.
