4 Setting up
Place the unit as desired or put it onto a PA
speaker stand (e . g . PAST series from the MO-
NACOR product range) via the stand sleeve on
its lower side .
The protective bag TXA-800BAG made of
black synthetic fibre is available as an accessory .
The bag may remain on the speaker system dur-
ing operation .
5 Power Supply /
Recharging the Batteries
To operate the active speaker system via a mains
socket and / or to recharge the internal lead gel
batteries, connect the mains cable provided
to the mains jack (13) and to a mains socket
(230 V/ 50 Hz) .
When the active speaker system is connected
to the mains, the automatic charging for the
rechargeable batteries will always be active . The
LED CHARGE (4) will light up:
red:
the batteries are being charged
green: the batteries have been fully charged
For charging, it will not be necessary to switch on
the speaker system with the POWER switch (5);
however, it can be operated as usual during the
charging process .
The charge control circuit will prevent over-
charge of the batteries; it is recommended,
however, to disconnect the mains plug from
the socket after charging if the unit is not used
for a longer period .
Important: To prevent damage to the batteries by
deep discharge and to prevent a reduction of their
battery life, please observe the following notes:
– Always fully recharge the batteries prior to initial
operation and after longer storage .
– If the POWER switch (5) starts flashing during bat-
tery operation, the batteries are almost discharged
and should be recharged as soon as possible .
– Fully recharge the batteries prior to longer storage
and at least every 2 months during storage .

6 Audio Connections

6.1 Inputs
A microphone and a stereo unit with line out-
put level (e . g . CD / MP3 player, mixer, tape deck,
tuner) may be connected as audio sources:
– Connect the microphone either via an XLR
plug or a 6 .3 mm plug to the balanced jack
MIC IN (11) .
– Connect the stereo unit with line output to
the RCA jacks LINE IN (9) .
6.2 Output LINE OUT
The RCA jacks LINE OUT (10) allow, for example,
to connect a recorder or another active speaker
system for PA application . At both jacks the
mixed mono signal of the speaker system is
available . The control MASTER (6) for the mas-
ter volume of the active speaker system will not
affect the signal at the output LINE OUT; the
adjustments of the tone controls (7), however,
will affect it .
Note: The active speaker system is not provided with a
volume control for the unit at the input LINE IN (9); i . e .
the signal of the unit will always be fed to the output
LINE OUT at its input volume .
10
6.3 Passive speaker system
If a speaker system (without amplifier) is addition-
ally required for PA applications, it may be con-
nected to the jack SPEAKER (12) . The minimum
impedance of the speaker system must be 8 Ω .

7 Operation

CAUTION Never adjust the active speaker
system to a very high volume .
Permanent high volumes may
damage your hearing!
Your ear will get accustomed to high volumes
which do not seem to be that high any more
after some time . Therefore, do not further in-
crease a high volume after getting used to it .
1) Prior to switching on, turn back the control
MASTER (6) for the master volume to MIN
first, then switch on the speaker system with
the switch POWER (5) [the corresponding
switch position is shown in figure 1] . The
switch will light up during operation . If it
starts flashing during battery operation, the
batteries are almost discharged and should
be recharged .
To prevent damage to the rechargeable
batteries by deep discharge during battery
operation, a discharge protection will auto-
matically switch off the unit in time . However,
due to self-discharge of the batteries, a deep
discharge may also occur when the unit is
not operated for a longer period of time .
Therefore, always observe the notes in the
box in chapter 5 .
2) Set the control MASTER (6) to such a level
that the subsequent adjustments can be
heard well via the speakers .
3) Switch on the desired signal sources and mix
their signals with the corresponding volume
controls or fade them in and out as required
(always completely turn back the controls of
the signal sources not used):
– for the receiver module / modules (1):
on-off switch and volume control (20)
operation: see chapter 7.1
– for models TXA- . . .CD only:
for the integrated CD / MP3 player (2):
volume control VOL (29)
operation: see chapters 7.3 and 3.3
– for the microphone at the input MIC IN (11):
volume control MIC (8)
The input LINE IN (9) is not provided with an
individual volume control; the volume of the
signal source connected to this input can only
be adjusted via the control MASTER (6) for
the master volume .
4) Use the controls BASS and TREBLE (7) to op-
timize the sound of the mixed signal .
5) Use the control MASTER (6) to adjust the
final level for the master volume of the ac-
tive speaker system, then readjust the sound,
if required .
6) For operating the transmitter module of
model TXA-802CD see chapter 7 .2 .
7) After operation, set the switch POWER (5)
to off .
7.1 Receiver module
model TXA-800 /-800CD: 1 receiver module
model TXA-802CD:
2 receiver modules
1) To switch on the receiver module, advance
the on-off switch and volume control (20)
from the position OFF . The LED A / B (15) will
light up in red or green depending on the
receiving antenna A or B currently active .
2) Leave the transmitter switched off for the
time being . First set the receiver module to
a transmission channel which is free and in-
terference-free:
1 . Press the button SET (18) . The channel indi-
cation on the display (14) will start flashing .
2 . As long as the channel indication keeps
flashing (for approx . 10 seconds), the chan-
nel can be selected with the buttons △
and ▽ (19): button △ for channel selection
"upward"; button ▽ for channel selection
"downward" .
3 . Confirm the channel selection with the
button SET . (If the selection is not con-
firmed within 10 seconds with the button
SET, the receiver module will return to the
channel previously adjusted .)
If the LED RX (16) lights up after channel
selection when the transmitter is switched
off, interference signals or signals of other
transmitters are received on this channel . In
this case, set the receiver module to a differ-
ent channel .
3) It is possible to briefly indicate the radio fre-
quency for the channel adjusted: as long as
the button △ or ▽ is kept pressed, the dis-
play will indicate the frequency instead of
the channel .
4) If the transmitter is switched on and set to
the same channel as the receiver module, the
LED RX (16) will light up to indicate reception
of a radio signal . The LED AF (17) will light
up if the transmitter transmits an audio sig-
nal of sufficient level on the radio frequency
adjusted .
5) Use the control (20) to adjust the desired vol-
ume for the audio signal received .
7.2 Transmitter module
for model TXA-802 only
If several active speaker systems are required
for PA application, a wireless audio link mode is
possible: Via the transmitter module of an active
speaker system TXA-802CD (master unit), the
mixed signal, unaffected by the control MASTER
(6) and by the tone controls (7), can be trans-
mitted to the receiver modules of other active
speaker systems (slave units) of the TXA-800
series or the TXA-1020 series .
1) To switch on the transmitter module, advance
the on-off switch and volume control (26)
from the position OFF . The LED TX (22) will
light up to indicate transmission of a radio
signal .
2) At the receiver modules of the slave units,
adjust the transmission channel for the audio
link mode and set the transmitter module of
the master unit to the same channel:
1 . Press the button SET (24) . The channel indi-
cation on the display (21) will start flashing .
2 . As long as the channel indication keeps
flashing (for approx . 10 seconds), the chan-
