Tunnelrettungszug Rtz
Die Tatsache, dass die Eisenbahn zu den sichersten
Verkehrsmitteln der Welt gehört, verführt die Deutsche
Bahn AG nicht dazu auf ein ausgeklügeltes Rettungs-
system zu verzichten. Speziell für die tunnelreichen
Neubaustrecken wurde mit dem Tunnelrettungszug
Rtz ein neues Rettungssystem entwickelt, das selbst
bei Bränden in einem Tunnel einsatzfähig ist.
Der Tunnelrettungszug besteht aus je einer Loko-
motive am Zugende sowie 5 speziellen Zwischen-
wagen, die mit der notwendigen Ausrüstung zur
Versorgung von Verletzten und zur Brandbekämpfung
ausgestattet sind.
Der Zug kann dank seiner unabhängigen Energie- und
Luftversorgung nicht nur bei Rettungsmaßnahmen
auf freier Strecke sondern auch in verrauchten
Tunnels eingesetzt werden. Während die vordere
Lok zusammen mit dem Sanitäts-, Löschmittel- und
Gerätewagen im Tunnel verbleibt und damit die
Basisstation für die Hilfskräfte darstellt, können die
erstversorgten Verletzten mit der hinteren Lok und
dem angehängten Transportwagen aus dem Tunnel
gebracht werden bzw. benötigte Hilfskräfte und
Material in den Tunnel transportiert werden.

Rtz Tunnel Rescue Train
The fact that the railroad is among the safest forms
of transportation in the world has not tempted the
German Railroad, Inc. into doing without a well-
designed rescue system. A new rescue system
was specially developed with the Rtz Tunnel Rescue
Train for the new routes with their many tunnels.
This system can be used even in the event of fires
in a tunnel.
The tunnel rescue train consists of a locomotive at
each end of the train as well as 5 special intermediate
cars that are equipped with the necessary tools for
care for the wounded and to fight fires.
Thanks to its independent power and air supply,
this train can be used for rescues in smoke-filled
tunnels as well as out in the open. While the front
locomotive remains together with the first aid car,
fire extinguishing car and equipment car in the tunnel
and thereby forms the base station for the emergency
teams, the wounded who have undergone initial
medical treatment can be evacuated with the loco-
motive at the back of the train and with the transport
car coupled to it, and necessary emergency teams
and material can be transported into the tunnel with
these same cars.
