How the CO
Micro-Perler works

The CO
supplied by the CO
fertilizer system is conveyed to the inner chamber of the Micro-Perler via the built-in bubble counter. The ceramic diffusor atomi-

zes the CO
into thousands of tiny micro-bubbles.

This increases the contact area between the CO
and the aquarium water many times over, so that the CO
2

supplied can be measured by the number of bubbles leaving the built-in bubble counter per minute.

Whilst the CO
dissolves into the water, so-called waste gases – harmless gases that occur naturally in all aquarium water – penetrate the micro bubbles. This

is why the bubbles get smaller the further up the tank they rise, without ever dissolving completely. When the bubbles reach the water surface, they consist
almost entirely of waste gases and contain barely any CO
at all.

How to install the CO
Micro-Perler correctly

1.
Rinse the Micro-Perler with warm tap water. Do not use detergent!
2.
Remove the screw cap and carefully detach the ceramic diffusor together with the washer (e.g. lift out using a small screwdriver). Take care not to
damage the washer.
3.
Fill the Micro-Perler with water and reinsert the ceramic disc together with the washer. Replace the screw cap.
4.
Plug the CO
supply hose onto the hose connector.

5.
In the aquarium, select a spot with good water circulation. The spot should be as dark as possible to prevent possible algae growth.
6.
Secure the Micro-Perler with the ceramic diffusor at the top as far down in the aquarium as possible using the suction cup.
7.
Set the required amount of CO
on the needle valve of the pressure reducer. For this purpose please also consult the instructions for use provided with

the other components of your fertilization system.
DENNERLE Professional Tip:
•
Always protect your valuable pressure reducer against corrosion caused by intake of water! To do so, use only check valves designed for use in combi-
nation with CO
, e.g. the DENNERLE CO
Special Check Valve. Normal air check valves may become brittle and leaky through contact with CO

within only a short space of time. Often this occurs unnoticed.
The right amount of CO
2
For magnificent plant growth, DENNERLE recommend a CO
content in the aquarium of between 15 and 30 mg/l, whilst between 20 and 25 mg/l
2
is ideal. The number of bubbles per minute required to achieve this CO
content depends on a number of factors (types of plants used, water current, sur-
2
face area/volume ratio, etc.). This is why it is always necessary to determine the CO
amounts for each aquarium individually.

Rule of thumb for the basic setting*: start with approx. 20 bubbles per minute per 100 l of aquarium water, i.e. for a 200-l aquarium, for example, use 2 x
20 = 40 bubbles per minute. Check the CO
supply and the CO
levels in the aquarium water regularly and adjust the CO
2

Warning: if necessary, only ever increase the CO
level gradually over the course of several days!

Please note: the more vigorously the surface of the water is set in motion (e.g. by filters, additional aeration), the more CO
rium again.
*This number of bubbles only applies to the Micro-Perler. If using other diffusors or a separate bubble counter, other bubble counts may apply, since the bub-
ble size depends largely on the type of device used. Please consult the instruction for use accordingly.

Long-term test Correct. The test directly and permanently indicates the CO

content of the aquarium water on the basis of its color. GRÜN corresponds to the optimum value of between 20 and 25 mg/l. Further aids or water

levels are not necessary!

If necessary, clean Micro-Perler using water and a brush. Do not use any detergents. The ceramic diffusor can be removed for cleaning by unscrewing the black
screw cap.

Ecco come collegare il CO
1.
Lavare il Micro-Perler con acqua calda di rubinetto. Non utilizzare detergenti!
2.
Svitare il dado di raccordo e asportare attentamente il diffusore in ceramica completo di guarnizione (p. es. fare leva con un piccolo cacciavite prestan-
do molta cautela). Fare attenzione a non danneggiare la guarnizione.
3.
Riempire il Micro-Perler di acqua e reinserire il disco in ceramica unitamente alla relativa guarnizione. Riavvitare il dado di raccordo.
4.
Inserire il tubo di alimentazione CO
5.
Nell'acquario scegliere un punto con un buon movimento dell'acqua. La posizione non dovrebbe essere troppo esposta alla luce, per prevenire la possi-
bile formazione di alghe.
6.
Fissare il Micro-Perler con la ventosa, con il diffusore in ceramica rivolto verso l'alto e il più possibile nella parte bassa dell'acquario.
7.
Impostare la necessaria quantità di CO

Micro-Perler met warm leidingwater afspoelen. Geen reinigingsmiddel gebruiken!

Wartelmoer afschroeven en de Keramiek Diffusor tezamen met de afsluiting voorzichtig afnemen (bijv. met een kleine schroevendraaier voorzichtig ver-
wijderen). Let op dat de afsluiting niet wordt beschadigd.
3.
De Micro-Perler met water vullen en de keramische plaat tezamen met de afdichting weer monteren. Wartelmoer weer opschroeven.
4.
CO
-toevoerslang op de slangaansluiting aanbrengen.

In het aquarium een plaats met een goede waterbeweging selecteren. Om eventuele algenvorming te voorkomen dient de plaats liefst donker te zijn.
6.
De Micro-Perler tezamen met de keramische diffusor naar boven gericht, indien mogelijk diep onder in het aquarium met de zuignappen bevestigen.
7.
De benodigde CO
-toevoerhoeveelheid bij het naaldventiel van de drukregelaar instellen. Volg daarbij tevens de in de gebruiksaanleiding van de overi-

Bescherm uw waardevolle drukregelaar steeds tegen roestvorming als gevolg van teruglopend water! Maak daarom uitsluitend gebruik van terugslagven-
tielen die voor een werking met CO
zijn ontworpen, bijv. het DENNERLE CO

nen al binnen korte tijd, vaak ongemerkt, door CO
broos worden en derhalve niet meer geheel dicht zijn.

De juiste CO
-hoeveelheid

Voor een prachtige plantengroei adviseert DENNERLE een CO
-gehalte in het aquarium tussen 15 en 30 mg/l, ideaal is 20 tot 25 mg/l. Het voor dit
2
CO
-gehalte benodigde aantal bellen per minuut hangt van een veelvoud aan factoren af (beplanting, beweging van het water, verhouding oppervlakte –
2
volume, enz.). Het is daarom noodzakelijk de CO
-toevoerhoeveelheid steeds per aquarium te bepalen.

Vuistregel voor de basisinstelling *: Begin met ca. 20 bellen per minuut per 100 liter aquariumwater, d.w.z. voor een aquarium met een inhoud van 200
liter, beginnen met ca. 2 x 20 = 40 bellen per minuut. Controleer de CO
aggi-
toevoerhoeveelheid eventueel aan. Let op: de CO
-hoeveelheid, indien nodig, altijd geleidelijk en over een aantal dagen verspreid, verhogen!
