About This Documentation
These instructions contain important information on the safe and appropriate assembly,
transportation, commissioning, operation, maintenance and disassembly of the AR1 pressure
reservoir and how to remedy simple malfunctions yourself.
O
Read these instructions completely, especially section 2 "Notes on Safety" before you start
assembling and operating the reservoir.
Additional documentation
The reservoirs are system components. Also follow the instructions for the other system
components.
Also observe the following instructions:
W System documentation from the system manufacturer
Other Notes and information on this reservoir:
W Technical data and dimensions in accordance with the online catalog:
www.aventics.com/pneumatics-catalog
Furthermore, observe general, statutory and other binding rules of the European and national
laws, as well as regulations to protect the environment and avoid accidents.
2
Notes on Safety
The reservoir has been manufactured according to the accepted rules of safety and current
technology. There is, however, still a danger of personal injury or damage to equipment if the
following general safety instructions and the warnings before the steps contained in these
instructions are not complied with.
O
Keep these instructions in a location where they are accessible to all users at all times.
O
Always include the operating instructions when you pass the reservoir on to third parties.
Intended use
The AR1 pressure reservoirs are products designed in accordance with the 2014/29/EU
directive relating to pressure reservoirs.
O
Only use the AR1 pressure reservoirs for stationary systems.
O
Only fill the AR1 pressure reservoirs with compressed air.
O
Use is permitted only within the performance limits listed in the technical data.
The AR1 pressure reservoirs are technical equipment and not intended for private use.

safety measures, due to their professional training, knowledge, and experience, as well as their
understanding of the relevant conditions pertaining to the work to be done. Qualified personnel
must observe the rules relevant to the subject area.
Safety instructions in this document
In this document, there are safety instructions before the steps whenever there is a danger of
personal injury or damage to the equipment. The measures described to avoid these hazards
must be followed.

Measures to avoid these hazards
Meaning of the signal words
Indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury.
Indicates damage: the product or the environment may be damaged.
General safety instructions
W Observe the local regulations to protect the environment in the country of use and to avoid
workplace accidents.
W Only use AVENTICS products that are in perfect working order.
– Examine the product for obvious defects, such as cracks in the housing.
– Replace faulty reservoirs immediately.
W Do not modify or convert the product. The manufacturer can accept no liability claims if these
instructions are not complied with or the device is interfered with; the warranty for
appliances and accessory parts will no longer apply.
W Before commissioning the reservoir, ensure that all the appropriate safety equipment is in
place.
W Do not place any improper mechanical loads on the product under any circumstances.
W Fill the reservoir with compressed air only after correct installation.
W Ensure that neither welding nor heat treatment is carried out on the reservoir's pressure-
bearing walls.
W Apply suitable measures to prevent harmful vibrations and corrosion on the reservoir.
During assembly
W Ensure that neither welding nor heat treatment is carried out on the reservoir's pressure-
bearing walls. Apply suitable measures to prevent harmful vibrations on the reservoir. Also
make sure that no harmful pulsating load is transferred through the reservoir necks.
W Make sure the relevant system component is not under pressure or voltage before
assembling the product or when connecting and disconnecting plugs. Make sure the part
cannot be switched on accidentally.
W Lay the cables and lines so that they are not damaged and no one can trip over them.
W Before commissioning, make sure that all the connection seals and plugs are correctly
installed and free of damage to prevent fluids and foreign bodies from penetrating the device.
On commissioning
W Let the product acclimatize for several hours before commissioning, otherwise water may
condense in the housing.
W Check that all pneumatic connection ports are connected or plugged. Only operate a fully
installed product.
During cleaning
W Seal all openings with suitable protective caps to prevent detergents from penetrating the
system.
W Never use solvents or strong detergents. Only clean the product using a slightly damp cloth.
Only use water to do this and, if necessary, a mild detergent.
W Do not use high-pressure cleaners for cleaning.
