Care and Storage

PLEASE NOTE!
■ Allow the device and accessories to cool down before they are cleaned.
■ Do not use any toxic, corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or scouring sponges to
clean the device. These can damage the surface.
1. Take the portafi lter (8) out of the device and empty it (see the "Handling and Opera-
tion" chapter – "Removing the Portafi lter from the Device" and "Emptying the Porta-
fi lter").
2. Remove the sieve insert (14) (see the "Handling and Operation" chapter – "Inserting
/ Removing the Sieve Insert").
3. Empty the drip tray (6) after each use (see the "Handling and Operation" chap-
ter – "Inserting / Removing the Drip Tray").
4. Clean all used accessories with mild detergent and warm water.
5. Wipe down the housing with a damp cloth. If necessary, use a little mild detergent to
remove more intense soiling.
6. Check the mains connecting cable regularly for any damage.
Cleaning the Steam Nozzle
To prevent blockages, the steam nozzle (5) must be cleaned after each use.
1. Pull down the plastic attachment of the steam nozzle and clean the attachment with
mild detergent and warm water.
2. Turn the metal tube of the device over the drip tray (6).

4. Press the steam button (12). The heating process starts.
5. Turn the steam power control (4) to the left to rinse any milk residues out of the metal
tube.
6. Wipe down the metal tube with a damp cloth.
If the metal tube has become clogged, the blockage can be released with a
needle.
Cleaning the Water Tank
1. Remove the water tank (2) and remove any remaining water (see the "Handling and
Operation" chapter – "Filling the Water Tank").
2. Clean the water tank and the water tank cover with warm water and mild cleaning
agent or in the dishwasher.
The water tank may be cleaned in the dishwasher. However, frequent rinsing
in the dishwasher may scratch the surface.
3. Then rinse with clear water and carefully dry it.
4. Place the water tank back in the device.
