Care and storage

ATTENTION!
■ The fi lter and fi lter holder are hot after use! Let them cool off fi rst before removing the
fi lter for cleaning.
■ Clean the device regularly after use as described in the chapter "Care and de-
calcifying". The milk tank should be cleaned EACH time before it is refi lled!
■ The milk tank (without the milk tank cover!) and the water tank are suitable for clean-
ing in the dishwasher. All other parts must not be cleaned in the dishwasher!
■ Never submerge the device, the mains cord or the plug in water.
■ Prior to each cleaning, pull the mains plug out of the socket.
■ When cleaning, do not use any scouring or abrasive cleaners. They could damage
the surface.
Cleaning the milk tank and milk nozzle
1. Ensure that the device is switched off and disconnected from the mains!
2. Remove the milk tank (7) from the device.
3. Remove the milk tank cover (4) from the milk tank.
4. Remove any leftover milk and clean the milk tank (7) and the milk tank cover (4) with
warm water and a mild cleaner.
The milk tank (7) may be cleaned in the dishwasher. Please keep in mind, however,
that the surface could be scratched if cleaned frequently in the dishwasher. The
milk tank cover is not suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher!
5. Rinse it with clean water and carefully dry all parts.
6. Fill the milk tank (7) with water, put the milk tank cover (4) on the milk tank (7) and
place it in the device.
If you would like to decalcify the milk tank (7) and the milk nozzle (6), you can
add a commercially-available decalcifi er for coffee makers to the water. Please
follow the operating instructions of the manufacturer for this. You should rinse
out the milk tank (7) with water after decalcifying and perform at least one
cleaning cycle with just water (without decalcifi er) in the milk tank (7).
7. Place a large, empty container on the cup grate (9) and position the milk nozzle (6)
so that it is pointing directly into the container.
8. Connect the device to a properly installed socket and set the On/Off switch to position I.
9. Wait until the LED indicator (2) is continuously illuminated.
10. Set the milk nozzle adjustment mechanism (5) to the position
11. Then push the Latte button and hold it down for approx. 3 seconds until the LED
indicator (2) blinks and the two LED indicators for the Latte button light up in order to
activate the cleaning function.
12. Water vapour is emitted from the milk nozzle (6). Wait until no water vapour is emitted
from the milk nozzle (6) and the LED indicator (2) is continuously illuminated or push
the Latte button again to stop the process.
13. Remove any leftover water from the milk tank (7) and put it back in the device.
14. Always switch the device off and disconnect the mains plug from the socket if you are
not using the device anymore.
