1 Safety instructions

• For 230 V AC / 50 Hz only.
• For indoor use only.
• Always disconnect all devices located in the water from the power supply before placing your hands in the aquarium water (disconnect plug).
• The mains plug must be accessible at all times after installing the device.
• All cables leading out of the aquarium and the mains leads of the employed devices must be provided with a drip loop to prevent any water
which may run down the cables from reaching items of equipment or the mains socket outlet.
• Equipment with a damaged connecting lead must no longer be used. A damaged connecting lead must not be replaced.
• This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with restricted physical, sensory or mental capabilities or with inadequate
experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instructions from such
persons on use of the device. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
• The device is to be used for its specified purpose only. Using add-on parts which are not recommended by the device's manufacturer may lead to an unsafe
operating state – no guarantee coverage.
• Permitted water and room temperature: 10 - 35 °C
• Maximum pump lifting height: 60 cm. Please position the filter accordingly.
• Do not start operation until the filter has been completely installed. The filter chamber must be filled with water before starting up the pump in order to
ensure that it functions correctly.
• Do not use the filter if the upper cover becomes hot or makes unusual noises.
• When installing the filter for the first time let it run in a water cycle (e.g. a separate aquarium or bucket) without fish for 24 hours to remove any production
residues.

3 Installation
The Nano External SkimFilter can either be clipped onto a side pane of the aquarium or placed next to the aquarium.
3.1 Filter operation on a side pane
3.1.1 Assembly of the intake side
• Insert the TPR elbow pipe (T) with the long side piece into the upper cover connector marked "IN" (G) and secure it with the plastic
nut (L).
• Put the elbow (M) onto the short side piece of the TPR elbow pipe and likewise secure this with the plastic nut (L).
