Disco Stereo Mixer MPX-2SC
The disco mixer is designed for operation with two
turntables or two units with line level and a DJ micro-
phone. A very compact version in professional quality.
Features:
- 2 stereo faders, switchable to phono (including
RIAA preamplifier) or line with a crossfader
- 1 mono microphone fader with talkover switch
- Monitor circuit with headphones output for pre-
fader and console output listening.
- Two 5-way LED level displays.

1 Safety Notes

This appliance corresponds to the directive for electro-
magnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC and the low volt-
age directive 73/23/EEC.
This unit uses lethally high voltage (230 V~). To pre-
vent a shock hazard do not open the cabinet. Leave
servicing to authorized skilled personnel only. Also
any guarantee claim expires if the unit has been
opened.
For the operation also watch in any case the following
items:
The unit is only suitable for indoor use.
Avoid excessively warm locations for the unit or high
humidity (permissible operating temperature range
0–40°C).
Do not set the unit into operation and immediately
take the mains plug out of the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or sim-
ilar accident
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit must in any case be repaired by authorized
skilled personnel.
A damaged mains cable must only be repaired by
the manufacturer or authorized skilled personnel.
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket by
means of the mains cable.
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is operated in the wrong way or not
repaired by authorized skilled personnel, there is no
liability for possible damage.
For the cleaning only use a dry cloth for dust remov-
ing, by no means chemicals or water.
Important for U.K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord-
ance with the following code:
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured blue must be connect-
ed to the terminal in the plug which is marked with

the letter N or coloured black.
2. The wire which is coloured brown must be
connected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.

2 Operating Elements and Connections

2.1 Front Panel
1 Input selector switches PHONO or LINE
2 Power indicator
3 Level display of the stereo output signal
4 Talkover switch for attenuating the volume of the
input channels during a DJ announcement
5 Power switch, all channel controls should be at
minimum before operating the power switch. Thus,
strong switching noises which could damage the
speakers are avoided.
6 Selector switch for monitoring channel A or B
7 Faders for channels A and B (stereo) and the DJ
microphone (mono)

Caution! Do not adjust the headphones to a high
volume. Permanent high volumes may damage a
person´s hearing! The human ear gets accus-
tomed to high volumes which do not seem to be
that high after some time. Therefore, do not further
increase a high volume after getting used to it.
2.2 Rear Panel
12 Mains cable for connecting to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz)
13 Mains fuse, replace defect fuse only with fuse of
the same type and value
14 Ground connection, e. g. for turntables
15 Two identical stereo outputs for connecting the fol-
lowing power amplifiers
16 Line input jacks for connecting units such as cas-
sette/tape recorders, tuners, CD players, etc.
17 Input jacks for connecting two stereo turntables

3 Setting into Operation

Various connection methods are suggested in figure 3.
All connections have to be made prior to connecting
the unit to a mains socket. Use shielded cables. Set
the control faders to minimum before switching on.
After connecting to a mains socket (230 V~/
50 Hz) and switching on the mixer with the power
switch (5), units connected to the input faders (7) can
be monitored on the left side of the headphones via
turning the monitor fader up (11); afterwards, they are
carefully turned up and the level can be monitored at
the VU meters (3).
The console output is heard on the right side of the
headphones.
