2.5. Period Measurement
A period measurement is only possible in the measurement range between
10 Hz and 10 MHz. The period (5 digits) is displayed, followed by an "-S" for
milliseconds or "µs" for microseconds.
1. Input the signal to be measured to channel C (10 MHz).
2. Set the range selector to "PERIOD" (11). In all other aspects the measuring
procedure is exactly the same as in the Frequency Measurements.
3. The period value of the measured frequency is displayed. It is calculated
according to the following formula:
Period (ms) = Frequency (Hz)
Please Notice:
The period range accuracy is based on the numbers of digits of the

measured frequency. The period is displayed with one digit more than the
frequency, but with a maximum of 5 digits. Example: Measured frequency
615 Hz (3 digits); display of the period with 4 digits (1,626 ms).
If no signal is present, ---OL--- (Overload) will be displayed.

2.6. Auto-Power-Off
If the no input is done for more than 30 minutes and the measured values do
not change for ±10 measuring intervals, the unit will turn off automatically to
save battery power.
3. More Hints, Cleaning and Maintenance
Always connect the black measuring cable to ground and the red
measuring cable to the signal.
Before you start measuring in circuits and devices, disconnect those from
their power supply.
