3.3 Change wind speed display ( )

Press the button twice or more times to
select a different wind speed display.
When the button is pressed once a flashing
is displayed for 5 sec. to show that the wind
speed display can be changed.
Press the button
twice when in normal
display *).
The maximum wind
speed since switch-
ing on or since the
last reset will be dis-
played.
MAX, the maximum
wind speed and
RESET will flash for 5
sec. and then remain displayed.
*) This is also possible from Close Hauled or
true wind display.
The maximum wind
speed can be reset
by pressing the
LIGHT (RESET) but-
ton while MAX, the
maximum wind
speed and RESET
are still flashing.
After pressing the
LIGHT (RESET) but-
ton the maximum
wind speed since the
reset will be dis-
played.
If no reset is entered
the maximum wind
speed since switch-
ing on will be displayed.

Press the button twice. The wind speed can
now be reset again.
Or: Press the but-
ton three times.
The proportion of the
ship's speed which is
parallel to the true
wind will be dis-
played.
This is termed
'Velocity Made
Good', units are
always knots (kts).
This will only be displayed correctly if the
ship's speed is known and the instrument
receives a signal giving the speed.
VMG will flash for 5 sec. and then remain dis-
played.
Press the button

Depending on the ini-
tial situation:
The apparent (APP)
wind speed and wind
direction will be dis-
played
APP will flash for 5
sec. and then remain
displayed.
This is the normal display.
