Never operate with the guards not in place – serious risk of
injury!
The jointer fence always has to be mounted.
Always keep your hands well clear of the cutter block.
When jointing, use the jointer fence to provide firm support
for the work piece. The fence must well be locked in place.
Use an auxiliary fence when planing thin or narrow stock, to
keep your hands at a safe distance from the cutter block.
Always cover the part of the cutter block that is not covered
by the work piece with the cutter block guard.
Adjust the cutter block guard exactly to the dimension of the
work piece.
Never reach with your hands under the cutter block guard
when guiding the work piece!
Plane only stock which rests securely on the table.
Work pieces shorter than 200mm require special feeding aids
for planing (e.g. feeding template).
Never plane a work piece if it cannot be guided with a
sufficient distance to the cutter block.
Do not pull the work piece back over the unguarded cutter
block.
Specifications regarding the maximum or minimum size of the
work piece must be observed.
Do not remove chips and work piece parts until the machine
is at a complete standstill.
Always plane the work piece over its entire length.
Always use sharp cutter knives.
Use roller supports on both sides of the planer when working
long stock.
Keep all table surfaces clean, in particular remove resin
residue.
All anti-kickback fingers must automatically return to their
rest position (downwards)
Never reach with your hands into the machine when guiding
or sorting the workpiece.
Use a feeding aid (push wood) if you want to feed short stock
into the machine.
Thicknessing stock must have a minimum length of 160mm.
Do not thickness more than two work pieces at the same
time.
To plane stock which surfaces are not parallel, use suitable
feeding aids (make fitting templates).
Do not stand on the machine.
Connection and repair work on the electrical installation may
be carried out by a qualified electrician only.
Have a damaged or worn power cord replaced immediately.
Make all machine adjustments or maintenance with the
machine unplugged from the power source.

3.3 Remaining hazards

When using the machine according to regulations some
remaining hazards may still exist
Touching the cutter block in the machining area can cause
injury. For effective protection the cutter block guard must
always be adapted to the work piece.
Risk of kickback. Work piece is caught by the rotating cutter
block and thrown back to the operator.
Drawing-in/trapping hazard by power feed mechanism.
Squeezing hazard by workpiece power-outfeed.
Thrown workpiece parts can lead to injury
Sawdust and noise can be health hazards.
Be sure to wear personal protection gear such as safety
goggles and ear protection. Use a suitable dust exhaust
system.
The use of incorrect mains supply or a damaged power cord
can lead to injuries caused by electricity.
