2.7 Taking measurements to wet or shiny surfaces
As long as the range meter can be aimed directly at the surface, the distance to the target will be reliably measured.
With highly reflective surfaces, a reduction in range must be expected and the distance to the actual point of reflection
may be measured.
2.8 Taking measurements to transparent surfaces
It is generally possible to measure distances to transparent or semi-transparent materials, e.g. liquids, polystyrene
foam, etc. Light penetrates these materials, however, and measuring errors may therefore occur. Measuring errors
may also occur when measurements are taken through glass or if objects are present within the line of the laser beam.
