• For successful operation, the vehicle switch
and the transmitter switch must be set to the
same MultiBand™ setting. When you're driving
by yourself, you can set the switches to any of
the 4 MultiBand™ settings (as long as they
match).
• When you want to race with other RC
vehicles, just make sure each driver is
tuned to a different Multiband setting.
• To operate your vehicle, just turn the vehicle
ON. Push any transmitter
control and you will be able to run and
control your vehicle.
* A non-MultiBand™ vehicle, running on the
same frequency as your vehicle, may interfere
with operation of your vehicle. If you are rac-
ing against a non-MultiBand™ vehicle, make
sure that vehicle operates on a frequency dif-
ferent from yours.
* If you need to change the MultiBand™
setting, first make sure that your
vehicle is turned OFF. Change the switch
position as desired, making sure to change
both the transmitter AND the vehicle
switches. Then turn your vehicle back ON for
more racing action. NOTE: Make certain
you're not pressing a transmitter control while
changing selector switch position.
IV. VEHICLE BATTERY INSTALLATION
Your vehicle uses two different power sources: 4
AA alkaline batteries PLUS a 7.2V NiCd recharge-
able battery pack. For detailed information
regarding rechargeable battery charging and
safety, please refer to the Battery
"Charging/Care" Section.
A. To install the 4 AA alkaline batteries:
1. Rotate the battery door latch to unlocked posi-
tion and open the battery door.
2. Use a screwdriver (not included) to open the
interior battery door.
3. Install 4 AA alkaline batteries in the interior
battery compartment, with polarity (+/-) as
shown inside battery compartment.
4. Replace the interior battery door and
tighten the screw.
B. To install the 7.2V NiCd battery pack:
1. Insert the charged battery pack into the bat-
tery compartment as shown.
2. Connect the battery pack's wire connector to
the vehicle's wire connector as shown. Make
certain the connectors are securely snapped
together.
3. Close the battery door and rotate the
battery door latch to locked position.
* The 4 AA alkaline batteries will last much
longer than the running time of the charged
7.2V NiCd battery pack. When the vehicle
stops, the headlights blink, and you hear a
beep every two seconds--you should recharge
the 7.2V NiCd battery pack. When you hear a
double-beep--change the 4 AA alkaline
batteries.
C.TRANSMITTER BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. To install transmitter batteries, open battery
door as shown.
2. Install 4 AA batteries, with polarity (+/-) as
shown inside battery compartment.
3. Replace battery door.
* If the transmitter's LED indicator does not light

TROUBLESHOOTING: PROBLEM? - SOLUTIONS
SYMPTOM
PROBABLE CAUSE
Vehicle runs slowly or will not run.
• Loose battery connection or switches not ON.
• Weak or uncharged rechargeable NiCd battery.
• Weak transmitter battery.
Erratic operation or only short range possible.
• Radio interference likely.
• Antenna snapped into carry-loop holder.
Short rechargeable NiCd battery life.
• Battery not fully charged.

• Adult supervision is recommended when this
vehicle is being operated.
• To avoid accidental operation, remove all
batteries when not in use. Always turn the
vehicle OFF before removing batteries.
• Regularly inspect the antenna for cracks or
breaks. Do NOT bend the transmitter antenna
when extended. DO NOT use the transmitter if
the antenna is broken.
BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION
In exceptional circumstances batteries may leak
fluids that can cause a chemical burn injury or
ruin your toy (product). To avoid battery leakage:
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be
recharged.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from
the toy before being charged (if designed to be
removable).
• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged
under adult supervision (if designed to be
removable).
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc),
or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as
recommended are to be used.
• Batteries are to be inserted with the correct
polarity.
• Exhausted batteries are to be removed from
the toy.
• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
• Dispose of battery(ies) safely.
• Do not dispose of this toy in a fire. The batteries
inside may explode or leak.
Battery Performance Note:
For best performance use regular or
high-performance alkaline batteries (where
disposable batteries are called for). If your
vehicle is supplied with standard (carbon-zinc)
batteries for initial use and/or demonstration
purposes, we recommend replacing them with
alkaline batteries when necessary. Battery life
may vary depending on battery brand.
XCAUTION! Only allow children at least 8 years
old to use the battery charger. The
battery charger is not a toy and should be
used only under adult supervision.
CORRECTION
• Check battery connector and switches.
• Charge battery or replace.
• Replace with fresh alkaline battery.
• Change location (see point 2 – Quick Tips).
• Make sure antenna is fully extended.
• Recharge vehicle battery.
• Vehicle will take several hours to dry. Allow to
dry thoroughly overnight before trying again.
• Operate your vehicle in a dry area. Avoid driving
in water and snow.
