2. General

The optical smoke detector FAZ 3000-RM is available as an opti-
mum accessory for supplementing the FAZ 3000. It detects smolde-
ring fires early as well as open fires with smoke formation and
should normally be installed in each room. The FAZ 3000-RM works
according to the scattered light principle. The phototransmitter and
receiver are aligned in a measuring chamber in such a way that the
light of the transmitter does not directly hit the receiver. Through the
formation of smoke, the light is scattered through smoke particles
and reaches the receiver. Contrary to many other products on the
market, this device does not require a radioactive substance thanks
to the optical smoke detection. The FAZ 3000-RM has the following
outstanding features:
• Monitoring rooms regarding the development of smoke
• The sensitivity can be adjusted as required
• Integrated signal generator
• Triggers an alarm even when the alarm system is not activated
