7.1 Maintenance and servicing

The UK Health and Safety Executive's Lifting Operations and Lifting
Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER), require any equipment that is
used in the workplace (e.g. by a paid carer) to lift a load be subject to
safety inspection on a six monthly basis. Please refer to the HSE web
site for guidance www.hse.gov.uk. Link to HSE information document
on LOLER in Health and Social Care:

If the above cleaning and safety notices are observed, the product will
be maintenance free.
▸ Check product regularly for damage and to ensure that it is securely
assembled.
▸ In the event of damage and/or likely repairs, contact the authorized
dealer immediately.
▸ The bath lift must be checked by an authorized dealer before every
re-use or after 24 months at the latest (periodic inspection).
▸ If the bath lift is not used for a prolonged period, charge the battery
completely and then raise and lower the bath lift 3 times without
load. Repeat this process every 12 months. This helps to maintain
the service life of the battery.
