Work breaks

When using a carrying belt (optional):

 Unhook the hook of the carrying belt
from the eyelet.
or
 Open the lock.
 Remove the carrying belt and device.
In general:
 Set down the device securely.
NOTICE
In case of longer work breaks, remove the
battery from the device and secure it from
unauthorised use.

Shutting down

 Remove the battery from the device.
 Remove any dirt from the device.

Battery/charger

For details of how to use the rechargeable
battery, the battery bag and the charger,
read and observe operating instructions

Transport

CAUTION
Risk of personal injury or damage! Mind the
weight of the appliance during transport.
 To make transport easier, turn the han-
dle 90° so it is parallel with the shaft.

Storage

CAUTION
Risk of personal injury or damage! Consid-
er the weight of the appliance when storing
it.
This appliance must only be stored in inte-
rior rooms.

Care and maintenance

Only approved original spare parts and
original accessories may be used in order
not to impair the safety of the device.
WARNING
Risk of injury! Remove the battery from the
device before all work on the string trimmer.
CAUTION
Risk of injury! Wear protective gloves and
safety goggles when working on the de-
vice.

Maintenance Works

Cleaning the appliance
 Remove any remaining cutting residue
from the string guard and the cutting
head.
 Clean the unit parts with a damp cloth if
required.
 Clean the battery mount and electric
contacts of dirt and foreign bodies regu-
larly.

Replacing the string

NOTICE
Only use strings with a max. diameter of
2.4 mm.

 Push the release lugs on the cutting
head.
 Remove the reel holder.
 Remove any string remnants from the
reel.

 Insert new string in the reel as shown in
the illustration and wind it on.

 Guide the ends of the string through the
two notches in the holder and have
them protrude by approx. 150 mm, then
align them. Observe the illustrations!
 Insert the reel into the reel holder.
 Insert the coil holder into the cutting
head until it engages audibly.
