Safety instructions

Risk of injuries when working with the
string trimmer. It is therefore important
particular safety measures are observed
and rules of conduct complied with at all
times when working with string trim-
mers.
In addition to these safety instructions, the
country-related safety and training rules
(e.g. of authorities, occupational insurance
associations or social security benefits of-
fices) must be observed.
Local regulations may be in place that limit
the times during which they can be used
(time of day or year). Observe the local reg-
ulations.

General notes on safety

 Users are responsible for ensuring safe
use of the string trimmer, particularly
with respect to their own health and that
of others.
 Only operate this string trimmer when in
good health and sufficiently rested. The
string trimmer must also not be operat-
ed when under the influence of medica-
tion or drugs that restrict your ability to
react.
 The device must not be operated by mi-
nors.
 Keep children, other persons and ani-
mals out of its work area during use.
 The string trimmer should not be used
by persons whose mental or sensory
abilities are restricted.
 Increased risk of accident in bad weath-
er conditions. Only use the string trim-
mer if safe working conditions can be
guaranteed.
 Do not use metal blades.
 If the device vibrates unusually loudly,
stop working immediately.
 Do not touch any moving unit parts until
they have come to a standstill.
 Only hold power tools by their insulated
handles.
DANGER
Long hours of using the appliance can
cause circulation problems in the hands on
account of vibrations.
It is not possible to specify a generally valid
operation time, since this depends on sev-
eral factors:
– Proneness to blood circulation deficien-
cies (cold, numb fingers).
– Low ambient temperature. Wear warm
gloves to protect hands.
– A firm grip impedes blood circulation.
– Continuous operation is worse than an
operation interrupted by pauses.
In case of regular, long-term operation of
the device and in case of repeated occur-
rence of the symptoms (e.g. cold, numb fin-
gers) please consult a physician.

Safety Devices

Safety devices serve for the protection of
the user and must not be put out of opera-
tion or bypassed with respect to their func-
tion.

Release button

The unlocking button blocks the power
switch, thereby preventing sudden start-up
of the string trimmer.
