Version 08/12
Getting started, Connection via RJ45
• If the rotor head on the camera has been covered, e.g. with some adhesive strips (protection
during transport), remove these fi rst.
• Connect the WLAN antenna via the corresponding connection socket at the back of the
camera.
• Connect the camera's RJ45 connector with a 1:1 connected network cable to its network, e.g.
a network switch.
• Connect the camera's low voltage connector to a power socket using the AC adaptor in-
cluded in the delivery. After a few seconds, the camera's motor drive will start up (calibration
for horizontal and vertical movement) and the white LED on the front of the camera will fl ash
on and off.
There are two further LEDs on the RJ45 input: The top, right-hand LED indicates the link
status (network cable connection ok). The top, left-hand LED indicates data transfers via LAN
cable.
• Insert the provided CD into the appropriate drive on your computer and start the installation
programme (programme name: "IPCamSetup.exe").
Follow all the software instructions. Windows needs to be restarted afterwards.
Please note that the names and descriptions of the installation procedure, as described here,
may be different in newer versions of the software. In this case, follow the manufacturer's
operating instructions supplied with the software.
• Once you have started the programme you have just installed ("IP Camera Tool"), it will
search for available cameras in the network. When the camera is shown with its respective
IP address, double-click on it.
• You will be prompted to enter your username and password. Enter the username: "admin"
(small case and without speechmarks). Do not enter anything into the password fi eld
• Next, click: "OK", then in the next window that appears, click the relevant "Sign in" button,
depending on which internet browser you are using.
• Depending on the security settings in place, if you are using Internet Explorer an error mes-
sage might appear, stating that a required ActiveX element cannot be installed or that the
installation of the ActiveX can be started manually by clicking on the information bar.
This ActiveX element is necessary for displaying the camera image. Please note that the
ActiveX software for the Internet Explorer offers more settings than the software for other
internet browsers.
• It may also be necessary to make modifi cations to the settings for your antivirus or fi rewall
programs before the software will function properly.
We regret that, due to the variety of available programs, we cannot provide an exact descrip-
tion of the procedure.
• Further inforamation about the sotware can be found on the CD supplied with the manufac-
turer's operatiing instructions.
• Do not leave the packaging materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
drops, even from a low height.
• If the camera is used with other devices (e.g. a monitor), the operating instructions
and safety notices for these devices must be followed.
• A safe operation can no longer be assumed, if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer works
- the device has been stored under adverse conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials
are to be observed.
• Disconnect the power supply from the camera if it is not to be used for a while (e.g.
for storage).
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our
technical service or another specialist.
Test the camera before permanently installing it in the desired place.
The camera should always be connected fi rst to the computer via RJ45, so
that all the settings can be done easily. Only once the camera is working properly
can WLAN operation be set up.
For the set-up process to be straightforward, it is essential for your network to have
an active DHCP-Server (e.g. as contained in every router).
Note: There must be a DHCP server activated in your network (e.g. the DHCP
server in a router). Your PC must be confi gured so that it assigns an IP address
automatically.
