SICK Seilzugencoder
Montageanleitung
SICK Seilzugencoder sind nach den anerkannten Regeln
der Technik hergestellte Messgeräte.
Der Anbau des Seilzugencoders ist von einem Fachmann mit
Kenntnissen in Elektrik und Feinmechanik vorzunehmen.
Der Seilzugencoder darf nur zu dem seiner Bauart entspre-
chenden Zweck verwendet werden.

Sicherheitshinweise
Beachten Sie die für Ihr Land gültigen berufsgenossenschaft-
lichen Sicherheits- und Unfallverhütungsvorschriften.
Schalten Sie die Spannung bei allen von der Montage
betroffenen Geräte/Maschinen und Anlagen ab.
Elektrische Verbindungen zum Seilzugencoder nie bei einge-
schalteter Spannung herstellen bzw. lösen, kann zu
Gerätedefekt führen.
Für die einwandfreie Funktion der Geräte ist auf eine gute
Erdung bzw. auf eine EMV-gerechte Schirmverbindung
(beidseitiges Auflegen des Schirms) zu achten.

Installation instruction
SICK Wire Draw Encoders are state-of-the-art measuring
instruments.
The Wire Draw Encoder must be installed by trained personnel
with knowledge of electrical engineering and precision
engineering.
The Wire Draw Encoder must only be used for its intended
purpose.

Safety advice
Observe the professional Safety and Accident Prevention
Regulations applicable to your country.
Switch off the voltage to all devices/machines and systems
affected by the installation process.
Never electrically connect or disconnect the Wire Draw
Encoder with the voltage switched on, this may lead to
damage to the unit.
For the satisfactory operation of the devices, ensure good
earthing or an EM-compatible screen connection (screen
connected at both ends).

Elektronische Justage (SET-Wert = 1.000)
BTF Seilzugencoder besitzen eine elektrische Justage.
Die Justage kann auf 2 Arten ausgeführt werden:
• Taster unter dem PG-Stopfen an der Rückseite des Gehäuses
betätigen
• Über eine SET-Leitung, die von der Steuerung aus bedient
werden kann
Elektronische Justage mittels Taster
Spannung einschalten. Messseil auf die mechanische Anfangs-
position ziehen. PG-Stopfen entfernen. Taster mit einem geeig-
neten, stumpfen und nichtleitenden Gegenstand mind. 40 ms
betätigen.
Da sich bei der Justage der Positionswert sprunghaft ändert,
muss gewährleistet sein, dass keine ungewollte Bewegung der
Antriebe verursacht wird.
PG-Stopfen wieder montieren.
Elektronische Justage mittels SET-Leitung
Spannung einschalten. Messseil auf die mechanische Anfangs-
position ziehen.
SET-Leitung mit einem Pegel von 0,7*Us...Us für eine Dauer von
mind. 40 ms beschalten.
Da sich bei der Justage der Positionswert sprunghaft ändert,
muss gewährleistet sein, dass keine ungewollte Bewegung der
Antriebe verursacht wird.
Wartungshinweise
Seilzugencoder sind wartungsfrei.
Wir empfehlen in regelmäßigen Abständen
• die mechanische Befestigung zu überprüfen
• Verschraubungen und Steckverbindungen zu überprüfen

Electronical adjustment (Number-SET = 1,000)
BTF Wire Draw Encoders have electrical adjustment.
The Number-SET can be adjusted in 2 ways:
• By pressing operating the button located under the PG cap on
the back of the housing
• Via a SET line, which can be operated by the control system
Electrical adjustment using the button
Switch on the voltage. Pull the measuring wire to the mechanical
start position. Remove the PG cap. Press the button with a
suitable, blunt and non-conducting object for at least 40 ms.
Since the position value alters rapidly during activation of the
adjustment, ensure that the drive shaft cannot move during
activation.
Refit the PG cap.
Electrical adjustment using the SET line
Switch on the voltage. Pull the measuring wire to the mechanical
start position. Apply a level between 0.7*Us...Us to the SET line,
for at least 40 ms.
Since the position value alters rapidly during activation of the
adjustment, ensure that the drive shaft cannot move during acti-
vation.
Maintenance advice
Wire Draw Encoders are maintenance-free.
We recommend regularly
• checking the mechanical fixings
• checking the screw connections and plug-in connections
