After this initial adjustment procedure, the clock is then syn-
chronised twice a day: at 2.00 am and 2.00 pm (summertime) and
at 3.00 am and 3.00 pm (standard time).
If synchronisation is not possible during the first 10 minutes, eg.
because of poor DCF reception, the appliance switches the re-
ceiver off. The appliance then makes a fresh attempt at synchro-
nisation every hour.

9. Alarm

9.1. Setting the Alarm Time
• Briefly press the ALM/STD button (2) or the ALM/MIN (3) but-
ton once.
The display changes from the current time display to alarm
time display.
After fitting the battery, the alarm time defaults to 6.00 am
and the alarm is deactivated.
• Briefly press the ALM/STD button (2) in order to increment the
hours value of the alarm display by one hour each time the
button is pressed. If you keep the button pressed, the hours
value increments until you release the button.
• Briefly press the ALM/MIN button (3) in order to increment the
minutes value by one minute each time the button is pressed.
If you keep the button pressed, the minutes value increments
initially by one minute and then in 5-minute steps until you
release the button again.
• Three seconds after the last button was pressed, the appliance
quits alarm-setting mode and changes back to indication of
the current time of day.
The alarm time is automatically stored upon quitting alarm-set-
ting mode and the alarm function is simultaneously activated.

9.2. Activating/Deactivating the Alarm

The alarm is automatically deactivated after the first time the
battery is fitted or replaced.
• Briefly press the ALM/STD button (2) or the ALM/MIN button
(3) in order to activate the alarm. The display changes from the
current time indication to alarm time indication and the ALM
LED indicator lights up.
• To deactivate the alarm, press the ALM/STD button (2) or the
ALM/MIN button (3) for more than 2 seconds while the current
time is being displayed. The display changes to alarm-setting
mode and the ALM LED indicator goes out.
Three seconds after the last button was pressed, the appliance
automatically quits alarm-setting mode and changes back to
indication of the current time of day. The alarm setting that
was made is automatically accepted.

9.3. Stopping the Alarm

There are two ways of stopping the alarm.
While the alarm goes off, briefly press either the ALM/MIN but-
ton (3) or the ALM/STD button (2). Pressing one of these buttons
immediately stops the alarm and it is then only activated after 24
hours at the previously set alarm time.
If no button is pressed while the alarm tone goes off, the appli-
ance automatically switches off the alarm after one minute. The
alarm is only activated after 24 hours at the previously set alarm
time.
