Inserting and Replacing the Battery
Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the battery (pay
attention to positive and negative pole!).
Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave the batteries
lying around in the open; there is the risk that they will be swallowed
by children or pets. Mortal danger! If swallowed, consult a doctor
immediately.
Batteries may not be shorted, opened or thrown into fire. Batteries
must not be recharged. (Danger of explosion!)
Only use a new battery of the correct size and the recommended type.
Chemical liquids may leak out of old or spent batteries and damage
the device. Therefore, remove battery from the device if you do not
require it for a longer period (> 1 month).
Leaking or damaged batteries may burn the skin if touched. Under
these circumstances, protect your hands with suitable gloves.

-10°C to +50°C (14°F to 122°F)
Fold out the base on the back and pull the battery compartment cover downwards in the
direction of the arrow. A battery is already inserted. To prevent discharging, there is a
plastic strip between the battery and the battery contact. Pull out the protective strips.
A beep sounds and the display appears. Close the battery compartment again.
The batteries should be replaced if the display contrast has decreased or gone out
completely.
Saved settings are lost when changing the batteries.
Proceed as follows to replace the battery:
Fold out the base on the back and pull the battery compartment cover downwards
in the direction of the arrow. Remove the spent battery and insert an AA battery into
the battery compartment paying attention to the correct polarity (pay attention to
plus and minus!). Close the battery compartment.
Only use a high-quality battery to achieve as long a period of operation as
possible. The use of an accumulator is not recommended because the
operating time is strongly reduced by the low accumulator voltage and
capacity.
Table installation or wall mounting
• There is a fold-out base on the back for table installation. Place the device on a lev-
el and horizontal surface.
• For wall mounting, e.g. on a hook or screw, there is an opening on the back (top).
Pay attention when mounting that no power, gas or water pipes are damaged
by mistake! Mortal danger! The device must be securely attached, otherwise
persons may get hurt when it falls down.
Do not install the device too close to heat sources like heaters, ovens, etc.
and avoid direct sunlight. This would falsify the temperature values or
damage the device.
Attaching the outdoor sensor
• The outdoor sensor (the thick end of the cable with the metal cap) serves for out-
door installation. Install the outdoor sensor outdoors.
• Position it in such a way that it is not directly exposed to sunlight, otherwise the air
temperature is not measured correctly.
• The sensor may not lie in water and rain must be able to drain off. Otherwise the
device does not measure the current air temperature but that of the precipitation,
which leads to false measuring values.
