Dear Customer, the following safety instruction is intended not only for the protection
of your health, but also for the protection of the product.
Therefore, please read the following points very carefully before connecting and
using the product for the first time.
a) General
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted
for safety and approval reasons (CE). Never dismantle the product.
• Maintenance, adjustment, or repair work should be carried out only by a specialist/
specialist workshop.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of all other devices that are
connected to the USB charger.
• If in doubt about how to connect the device correctly, or should any questions arise
that are not answered in these operating instructions, please contact us or another
specialist.
b) Wall plug transformer
• The design of the wall plug transformer complies with Protection Class II (double
insulated electrical appliances).

Version 03/15
• Do not touch any wall plug transformer that shows signs of damage; there is a
danger to life from electric shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the wall plug transformer
is connected (switch off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety
fuse, and then switch off the fault-current circuit breaker, so that the socket is
completely (all-pole) disconnected).
Only then pull the wall plug transformer off the socket. Do not use the wall plug
transformer any more, and dispose of it in an environmental friendly manner.
c) Installation site
• The complete product is intended for use in dry, indoor locations only. No part of
the product should become damp or wet; never handle it if your hands are wet!
Wall plug transformers pose the potential risk of a fatal electric shock!
• Select a stable, flat, clean, sufficiently large place for the USB charger.
• Do not place the USB charger on a flammable surface (e.g. carpet, tablecloth).
Always use a suitable, non-flammable, heatproof base.
• Do not place the USB charger on surface of valuable furniture without suitable
protection. The impact of heat could lead to colour or material changes. Scratches
or pressure points may occur on the furniture surface.
• Keep the device away from easily flammable materials (e.g. drapes, paper), li-
quids (e.g. gasoline) or gases. There is a risk of fire and explosion!
• Avoid direct sunlight, strong heat or cold. Keep it away from dust and dirt.
• Do not use in the immediate vicinity of strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields,
transmitter aerials or RF generators. This can impact the electric control system.
• Make sure that the cable is not pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
d) Operation
• This product is not a toy. Devices operated on mains voltage should not be used
by children. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• Install all cables in such a way that nobody may trip over them.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
• Avoid the following unfavourable ambient conditions at the installation point or
during transportation or storage:
- Dampness or excessive humidity
- Extreme cold or heat, direct sunlight
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loud-
speakers
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room
into a warm one. The resulting condensation may lead to malfunctions or damage
under certain circumstances! The wall plug transformer also poses a risk for a
potentially fatal electric shock!
Wait until the product has reached room temperature before connecting wall plug
transformer to the mains and using the product. This may take several hours!
• Use the device in a moderate climate only, do not use it in a tropical climate. For
more information on acceptable environmental conditions, see the chapter "Tech-
nical data".
• The housing of the USB charger and the wall plug transformer heat up during
operation (depending on the output current). Make sure that there is sufficient
ventilation; never cover the USB charger and the wall plug transformer during
operation.
• In schools, educational centres, hobby and self-help workshops, the operation of
the product is to be supervised by trained employees.
• Disconnect the product from the mains voltage when you no longer need it (e.g.,
when it is put for storage).
• Disconnect the product from the mains voltage during thunderstorms in order to
protect the product as well as the connected devices from any damages.
• Do not apply force when connecting the USB plugs. A USB plug fits in the USB
socket only on one of its sides.
