10. Operation

Only put the device into operation when you have become familiar with its features and these
operating instructions. Check again that all connections are correct. Do not put the product into
operation if it is damaged.
The amplifier for this equipment should always be the last to be turned on and the first to be
turned off. This will prevent any undesired noises (which can typically occur when switching
off the player) from damaging the amplifier or speakers.

a) Switching on

• Turn the volume control of the connected amplifier down completely.
• Press the POWER switch (1) to switch on the player.
• Then switch on the mixer, if connected, and then the amplifier.

b) Inserting a CD

• Select the playback source CD with the button CD/USB/SD (9).
• Place the audio CD in the CD slot (5) with the labelled side upwards. Hold the CD only at the outer edge.
The CD is pulled in automatically.
• The CD is read.
• Then, the device automatically sets the CUE mark at the beginning of music in the first track and goes into
pause mode. You can now start playback.
The CD cannot be ejected during playback mode. This makes sure that the playback is not interrupted
unintentionally. Before pushing the OPEN/CLOSE button (6), stop playback.
If the CD was chosen as the playback source, the LED CD (32) lights up if there is no CD in the CD drive.
Never interfere with the motor-driven movement of the CD slot (5).
Do not insert any damaged CDs into the player. The high rotational speed may cause it to crack
and damage the device. Do not insert more than one CD.
Do not use any mini CDs (8cm diameter). The SCDJ-350USB Media-Player is not intended for
playback of this kind of CD. Do not use any mini CD adapter for this either. The drive mechanics
of the CD player could be damaged.
