• Place the suction pipe, from the point of suction, pointing upwards towards the pump. Absolutely avoid a laying of
the suction pipe over the pump height as bubbles in the suction pipe delay or impede the suction process.
• The suction valve should lay sufficiently deep in water in order to avoid a dry run of the pump if the level of the water
falls. Ensure the impermeability of the suction pipe. A leaky suction pipe draws air and no water. Avoid the drawing
of solid substances (sand etc.), install, if necessary, a preliminary filter.
b) Connection of the pressure line
Use, if possible, a pressure hose with spiral reinforcement and mount it with a screw joint at the pressure connection
of the pump (3).
c) Preparation for operation
1. Place the pump on a level and solid surface which is protected from weather influences (sun, rain, snow,
dampness, etc.).
2. Make sure that the ventilation slots are not covered. Mount the hose connections as described in the chapter
"Connection of the suction pipe" and "Connection of the pressure line". Make sure that the hose lines exert no
strain on the pump.
3. Unscrew the black screw plug (4) at the pump casing and fill the pump with water. Close the casing again with
the screw plug.
4. Switch on the pump.
5. During the suction process open completely the shut-off devices that are in the pressure line (spray nozzles,
valves, etc.) in order to allow the air which is in the suction pipe to escape.
6. The first drawing process can last from approx. 0,5 to 5 minutes according to the drawing height and the air
quantity in the suction pipe. Water should be refilled if drawing times are long.
7. If the pump is stored after operation, water must be refilled when the pump is re-connected and put into operation
again. A pump that is filled with water must not be exposed to temperatures around freezing point. This could
cause the water inside the pump to freeze and the pump casing to crack.
In order to avoid long drawing times when the pump is put into operation again, and in order to avoid
unnecessary damaging of the pump through stones and solid foreign substances, it is recommended to
use a preliminary filter and a suction device with suction hose, strainer and return valve.
Supervise the pump until it coneys water. It is only suitable for a limited dry run. The water temperature
must not be warmer than max. +35 °C.
d) Electrical connection
• Connect the power plug to a safety plug installed according to the regulations. Turning the pump on/off is done via
the integrated switch. The operating state is indicated via the integrated pilot light.
• Absolutely avoid a dry run of the pump. (operating the pump without water in the pump casing).
• In case of a power failure, disconnect the pump from the mains by turning it off or by pulling the plug from the
mains outlet.
• Never turn on the pump immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into a warm one. Condensation
water that forms might destroy your pump. Leave the pump switched off and wait until it has reached room
temperature. Wait until the condensation water has been evaporated.
