7. Installation

When installing the device, strictly adhere to the laser safety precautions mentioned earlier and to the
legal rules and regulations applicable in your country.
Have an expert who is familiar with the dangers and applicable regulations install and assemble the
device. Only properly qualified persons may service, control or operate this device.
After installation it must not be possible to readjust, turn or in any other way change the position of the
device. Simply setting up the device does not fulfil this requirement.
When choosing the location for installation, make sure it is free from impact, vibration, dust, heat,
cold and humidity. Also make sure not to install the device near strong transformers, engines or other
appliances with high interference.
Never cover the device. When installing the device together with other equipment, ensure sufficient
ventilation. Keep a minimum distance of 50 cm to other appliances or adjourning surfaces. Do not install
the laser near heat sources. Do not point any strong beamers or light sources at the device. This could
cause overheating (risk of fire!).
Keep inflammable materials such as decorative material at least 50 cm away from the device. Otherwise
there is a risk of fire! Do not point the laser beam at easily inflammable materials.
Use the laser in areas with an ambient temperature of +10 to +40 ºC only.
Do not drill or screw any additional screws into the housing for installation. This could expose dangerous
voltages.
Install the device out of other persons' arm's reach.
When installing the product, make sure not to squeeze the mains cable or to damage it by sharp edges.
When installing or servicing the device, seal off the area below the installation location. You must also
stay away from the area below the installation location.
Use a mounting surface or mounting device that can withstand the tenfold load capacity for at least one
continuous hour without permanent dangerous deformation.
When choosing an elevated location for installation, it is essential to secure the device with a second
safety suspension separately from the actual mounting device. If the main suspension malfunctions,
neither of the installed components must fall down.
Adhere to all regulations in your country concerning this matter when installing the device.
Inspection of the installation (for commercial/public use):
An authorized expert must inspect the installation (including the electric connection) before first-time operation
and after the installation has been changed significantly.
Have the installation inspected once a year by an authorized expert.
It is mandatory to have the installation inspected by an authorized expert at least once every 4 years.
