(AL 2) and a dual time display (DT).

Alarm function
The clock is equipped with an alarm with two alarm times.

of the display.

b) Activation/Deactivation
To turn the alarm on or off, press the ALARM button with the bell symbol repeatedly until the icon for the
desired alarm time is shown in or disappears from the lower right corner of the display.
Both alarms can be activated simultaneously. In this case both alarm symbols are displayed.
c) Alarm

edge of the housing. The alarm stops and starts again after about 4 minutes. This procedure can be repeated
up to seven times.
To switch the alarm off completely, press the ALARM button with the bell symbol.
The alarm switches off automatically after 4 minutes if it has not been turned off before then.
Setting additional times
The clock as well as normal time display on the DCF-time show two-time display functions.
a) International time function
The international time function displays the time in another time zone in the main display. This feature makes
it easy to switch to a different time zone when travelling. To switch to the international time in the main display
or revert back to the home time, only a button must be pressed.
• Press and hold the ▲ button until the display shows the symbol "F" (for "Foreign").
• Press and hold the MODE button until the hour display fl ashes.
• Set the hour display using the ▼/▲ buttons.

"Foreign") is displayed or disappears.
For the international time, only the hours (unlike the home time) can be adjusted. It is not neces-
sary to set the minutes.
b) Dual time display
The dual time display is useful when one is at home, but needs to know the time in another time zone. Since
the second time is also shown on the display, for example, it is easier to communicate with foreign countries
at the right time, without having to continuously convert the time.
• Press the MODE button repeatedly until DT (for DUAL TIME) is shown in the lower right corner of the
display.
• Press and hold the MODE button until the hour display of the dual time display fl ashes.
• Set the hours using the ▼/▲ buttons.
• Press the MODE button again. The minute display fl ashes.
• Set the minutes using the ▼/▲ buttons.
• Press the MODE button again to save the setting.
With dual time, the hour and minute display can be set separately from the home time.
IT = Italian
SP = Spanish
Temperature display
• Press the MODE button repeatedly until the temperature is shown in the lower right corner of the display.
• You can change the temperature unit with the °C/°F / WAVE button.
Display Lighting and Time Projection
To achieve a sharp projection image, the clock should be set up at least 1.5 m away from the
projection surface.
• Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button on the top edge of the housing to turn on the clock face light and the
time projection for a few seconds.
• If the power cable is plugged in and the switch CONTINUE PROJECTION is activated, the time remains
projected.
• To project the time onto the desired surface, the projector on the right of the housing can be swivelled.
• To turn the projection 180° (e.g. for projection onto the ceiling), press the FLIP button.

Troubleshooting

The clock does not synchronise or only has temporary reception:
• The distance to the DCF transmitter is too long or restricted by geographical conditions.
• Relocate the product; switch off interfering devices such as TV sets, computers or microwave ovens.
• Avoid a location in the vicinity of large metal surfaces, which may shield the radio signals. Windows with a
vapour deposited metal layer can also infl uence the signal reception.
• Place the clock near a window for synchronisation, and align the front or back side in the direction of
Frankfurt (Germany).
• Leave the clock switched on overnight to avoid atmospheric interference.
The displayed temperatures are not correct:
• The clock is exposed to direct sunlight.
• The clock is located too close to a heat source (heater, electronic device, etc.)
The device does not react when buttons are pressed, the display shows strange sym-
bols, or the display is blank:
• Remove the batteries and wait a few minutes before you reinsert them. By doing this, the built-in micro
processor will be reset and restarted.
Maintenance and Care
Apart from replacing the battery, the device requires no maintenance. Only clean the exterior of the device
with a soft, dry cloth or a brush.
Never use caustic cleaning agents or chemical solutions, as they could damage the surface of the casing.
Do not press on the sensitive display surface.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the household
waste!
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
Remove the batteries if there are batteries inserted and dispose of them separately from the
product.
Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/
rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries contain harmful materials and are labelled with the symbol
shown to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The symbols of the relevant
heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead. You can return your used batteries/
rechargeable batteries free of charge to the offi cial collection points in your municipality, in our
stores, or anywhere where batteries or rechargeable batteries are sold.
You thereby fulfi l your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
