Setting the Time Manually
It is necessary to set the time manually if the clockwork is to be used beyond the range of the
DCF signal.
To set the time manually, press the M.SET button for 3 seconds.
• As soon as the minute hand starts to run, you can set the time manually.
• Press the M.SET button briefl y, to adjust the time in minute steps, or keep the M.SET button
pressed, to adjust the time continuously.
• When the M.SET button is not pressed any longer, the set time is automatically accepted
after 8 seconds, and the manual time setting mode is exited.
Resetting the clock movement
Use this function if the clock movement no longer responds to keystrokes or in the event of
other malfunctions.
In this case, all of the previously received DCF data is deleted.
• To reset the clockwork, press the RESET button with a sharp-pointed object (e.g. a pen).
• The hands move to the receiving position (12:00) and the clockwork tries to detect the DCF
signal.
• Wait for about 3-12 minutes, until the current time is indicated.
Storage of the clock movement
If you want to store the clock movement, but it has been used already, you should lock it in
place at the 12:00 position using the locking pin.
• Press the RESET button with a sharp object (e.g. a pen).
• The hands move to the reception position (12:00 o'clock).
• Remove the battery.
• Plug the locking pin into the corresponding borehole on the rear of the casing. You should be
able to insert the pin into the borehole without applying any force.
• Secure the pin with an adhesive strip so that it cannot fall out accidentally.
Maintenance and Cleaning
To clean the clock movement, a dry, soft and clean cloth is suffi cient.
Do not use any chemical cleaning agents, as they can corrode and discolour the plastic casing.

Troubleshooting

The clock movement does not synchronise or only has temporary reception:
• The distance to the DCF transmitter is too long or restricted by geographical conditions.
• Relocate the product; switch off interfering devices such as TV sets, computers or microwave
ovens.
• Avoid a location in the vicinity of large metal surfaces, which may shield the radio signals.
Windows with a vapour deposited metal layer can also infl uence the signal reception.
• Place the clock movement at the window for synchronisation, and align the front or back side
in the direction of Frankfurt (Germany).
• Leave the clock movement switched on over night to avoid atmospheric interference.
