Place the machine on a stable surface (e. g. a workbench).
Hold the machine firmly and loosen the keyless chuck 1 by
turning the Hex key 22 in rotation direction . Loosen a tight-
seated keyless chuck by giving the long end of the Hex key 22
a light blow. Remove the Hex key from the keyless chuck and
completely unscrew the keyless chuck.
For machines with key chuck, disassembly is carried out anal-
ogous as described above.
For machines with keyless chuck, an open-end spanner (size
19 mm) can be applied to the drill chuck instead of an Hex
key.
Mounting the Drill Chuck (see figure E)
The keyless chuck/key type drill chuck is mounted in reverse
order.
 Remove the steel pin from the drill hole on the spindle
neck after mounting is completed.
The drill chuck must be tightened with a tightening
torque of approx. 50–55 Nm.

Dust/Chip Extraction

 Dusts from materials such as lead-containing coatings,
some wood types, minerals and metal can be harmful to
one's health. Touching or breathing-in the dusts can cause
allergic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infections of
the user or bystanders.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are considered
as carcinogenic, especially in connection with wood-treat-
ment additives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials
containing asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
– As far as possible, use a dust extraction system suitable
for the material.
– Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the mate-
rials to be worked.
 Use the dust/chip extraction only when working con-
crete, brick and brickwork. Wood or plastic chips can
easily lead to clogging.
 WARNING Fire hazard! Do not work metallic materials
with the extraction device mounted. Hot metal chips can
ignite parts of the extraction device.
 Prevent dust accumulation at the workplace. Dusts can
easily ignite.
Note: Do not use the dust extraction 13 when screwdriving or
cutting threads.
The dust extraction 13 retracts while working, so that the dust
collector is always kept close to structural surface being
drilled. The dust extraction automatically switches on and off
with the power tool.
To achieve optimum extraction results, please observe the
following notes:
– The application tool being used may not project beyond
the dust collector 16.
– Pay attention that the extraction device faces flush against
the workpiece or the wall. This also makes drilling at a right
angle easier.

– When using the extraction device, always work with the
maximum speed.
– After reaching the desired drilling depth, pull the drill bit
out of the drill hole first and then switch off the impact drill.
– Check the condition of the filter element 24 regularly. Re-
place a damaged filter element immediately.
Mounting/Removing the Dust Extraction (see figure F)
To remove the dust extraction, push the release button 9 and
pull off the dust extraction toward the front.
If required, pivot the auxiliary handle 11 to the side.
To mount the dust extraction 13, slide it via the guide grooves
23 onto the support guide of the machine until it can be heard
to engage.
Integrated Dust Extraction with Dust Box (see figure G)
The filling level of the dust box 10 can easily be checked
through the transparent flap 26.
Empty the dust collector in good time, otherwise the suction
performance will be impaired.
For removal of the dust box 10, push the two unlocking but-
tons 25 and pull the dust box downward out of the dust ex-
traction 13.
Before opening the dust box 10, gently strike or tap it against
a firm surface to loosen the dust from the filter element 24.
Open the dust box flap 26 on the bottom side and empty the
dust box.
Check the filter element 24 for damage. Replace it immedi-
ately when damaged.
Shut the dust box flap 26 and reinsert the dust box from be-
low into the dust extraction 13 until it can be heard to engage.
Changing the Filter Element (see figure H)
In order to maintain the filter performance, the filter element
24 of the dust box 10 must be changed after approx. 15 op-
erating hours.
For removal of the dust box 10, push the two unlocking but-
tons 25 and pull the dust box downward out of the dust ex-
traction 13.
Remove the filter element 24 upward and insert a new filter
element.
Reinsert the dust box into the dust extraction 13 from below
again until it can be heard to engage.
Note: If the filter element 24 is damaged (e.g. holes, damage
to the soft sealing material), it must be replaced immediately.
Working with a damaged filter element can cause damage to
the power tool.
Also replace the filter element 24 when the vacuuming perfor-
mance is insufficient, even when the dust box 10 is empty.
Adjusting the Drilling Depth (see figure I)
The desired drilling depth X can be specified with the depth
stop 27.
Insert a drill bit into the drill chuck and clamp the drill bit, see
section "Changing the Tool". Place the machine, without
switching it on, firmly against the surface to be drilled until the
drill bit touches the surface.
