• Position the system well away from cables loaded
with interference; if necessary provide additional
protective measures such as a protective screens
or metallised housings. Avoid arrangement of the
wiring parallel to the mains supply.
• Contactor coils must be connected to spark ar-
resting elements.
Voltage supply
The appropriate voltage values depend on the de-
vice version and should be taken from the delivery
documents or the nameplate.
e.g. : 24VDC ±20%
Encoder supply
Encoder voltage is supplied via terminals 1 (en-
coder supply +) and 8 (encoder supply -). Voltage
is 24VDC or 5VDC depending on the device version.
Maximum current of 200mA can be drawn in either
variant.
Encoder signal connection
The connections of the encoder signals differ de-
pending on the device/encoder versions and are
shown in Figures 2 and 3.
Reference / calibration switch input RFS
The reference point encoder is connected via termi-
nals 9 (RFS) and 10 (GND).
6. Operation
The display is operated and programmed via the
four front-side membrane keys. The keys can have
additional functions depending on their operating
modes. They are actuated individually, jointly (each
two) or time-dependent.
7. Commissioning
Following correct connection and switching on of
operating voltage the following data will be dis-
played for each approx. 1.5 secs. :
• Hardware identification
• Firmware status
• Type
Subsequently, you can program the display apllica-
tion-specifically.

8. Programming mode
The display unit is delivered with factory stand-
ard setting. Usually, the display is programmed
only once during initial commissioning and setup
of the display or application, respectively. You can
change or check the parameters any time later. The
values you've chosen are saved non-volatilely. For
a detailed denotation as well as description of the
function and selection of the programmable values
please refer to chapter 9 'Parameter description'.
Changing parameters
For changing and programming switch over to the
programming mode.
Entering the programming mode:
Press the
according to the setting in the 'P-key' menu item.
Leaving the programming mode:
Press no key for at least 30s or press the
til reaching the end of the parameter list.
