Adjusting the chest belt:
Adjusting the chest belt takes place each time again when putting on the harness.
With strongly tightened chest belt the "diagonal active system" works like a cross-
struting. A change of the flight characteristics can occur. Possible restrictions of
harness of the glider manufacturers are to be considered! The further the chest
belt is tightened the less reacts the glider to shifting the weight and the less
precisely the reactions of the glider in turbulent air is passed on the pilot. The
chest belt is locked with both latches on the right and left. Also automatically the
safe-t-system is closed, which prevents falling out with unintentional opened leg
loops.
Note: To strong tightening of the chest belt can favour a pivoting of the lines
because of increased inertia of the pilot weight in relation to the cap.
