9. START-UP

a) Connection

The charger must be used with a stabilised direct current voltage (11-18 V/DC).
Never use the charger with another voltage as this will destroy the charger and
invalidate the warranty/guarantee!
Depending on the battery connected, a charge current of up to 10A is possible
for each charging channel. For this reason, the power supply chosen must be
strong enough.
Connect the connection cable (1) to the power supply. Ensure correct polarity (plus/+ and
minus/-)! The red cable must be connected to the positive pole
(plus/+), the black one with the negative one (minus/-).
The charger emits a brief audio signal and the LC display is illuminated. The charger is
now on the main menu:

b) General Operation of the Menus, Basic Functions:

• Use the button "CH" to switch the two charging channels. The LEDs "1" or "2" at the left
and right of the display show for which charging channel the display is currently valid.
Both charging channels are completely independent from each other. This means
that settings or functions in charging channel 1 have no influence on the settings /
functions in charging channel 2.
Example:
A LiPo battery is charged in charging channel 1, a NiMH battery is discharged in
charging channel 2.
Where settings or procedures for charging of LiPo batteries are described on the follow-
ing pages, this setting only applies for the respectively active charging channel (e.g.
charging channel 1).
The other charging channel can be used independently of this.
