Special safety regulations

Check that the ventilation slots are not blocked.
Always hold the saw with both hands during use, and never
use it while standing on a ladder. Always stand on an ap-
proved working platform when sawing objects high up.
Never stop the saw blade by applying pressure to the saw
or to the side of the blade.
Never use high-speed steel blades.
Always use the correct type of blade for the type of work to
be performed.
Never use blades that are bent or have missing teeth.
Never use blades that are too large or small.
Never use blades with a maximum RPM less than that of
the tool.
Check that the blade rotation direction complies with that of
the motor.
Always use protective gloves when handling the blade. Never
put your hand under the saw, or try to remove material from
the working area while the blade is rotating. Never place
your fingers or hand on the item being cut in front or behind
of the saw while it is running.
Always keep the blade spindle and flange clean.
Never use the saw if the blade shield is not working cor-
rectly. The shield should close automatically when the saw
is not in use, and must NEVER be fixed open.
Never allow the blade to be in contact with the item to be
cut - or other objects - when starting the saw.
Check that there are no nails, screws or other objects that
could damage the blade in the item to be cut, and that the
surface under the item will not hinder cutting.
Never mount the saw in a vice or similar with the blade
uppermost to cut items in this way. Serious accidents can
occur.
Never lift the saw from the item as long as the blade is
rotating, and never put it down before the blade has come
to a complete stop with the shield fully closed.
Laser beams can cause permanent eye damage and must
therefore be used with care.
Do not direct the laser beam onto reflective surfaces, e.g.
mirrors or shiny surfaces.
Never look directly into the laser beam.
Never direct the laser beam at other people or animals.
Preparation and adjustment
Setting the parallel guide
Set the parallel guide (20) at the required distance from the
sole (1), and lock using the knob (21).
Setting the angle adjustment
Release the soleplate angle adjustment knob (2), and rotate
the upper part of the saw to the desired angle (0-45° from
vertical). Retighten the knob.
Switch on the laser unit (5) using the switch on the handle
(8). A visible laser beam will be projected in front of the
soleplate.
Check that the beam passes over the 0° mark when the
saw is vertical and that it passes over the 45° mark when it
is set to saw at an angle of 45°. Adjust the angle setting if
necessary.
Adjusting the cutting depth
To set the cutting depth, release the depth setting screw
(12) and rotate the upper part of the saw until the desired
blade (14) depth (from the bottom of the soleplate) is
achieved. Tighten the depth setting screw once more.
Sawing
Fit dust extractor hose (if to be used) to the extractor nozzle
(19).
Always secure the item to be worked with cramps or the
like. Never hold the item to be worked by hand.
Adjust angle, parallel guide and saw depth to suit (see prepa-
ration and adjustment).
Check that the saw is correctly set up and that all handles
and screws are correctly tightened before starting to saw.
Present the front of the soleplate to the item. Press the lock
swtich (6) and depress the on/off button (7) on the handle.
Allow the saw to reach full speed before starting to cut.
Place the motor side of the saw over the largest part of the
item not to be saawn off.
Hold the saw with both handles (4 and 8), and cut in a straight
line. The blade shield (17) will open automatically when the
blade comes in contact with the item.
Do not press the saw sideways.
Release the on/off button immediately if the blade gets stuck
in the item. Failure to do so can cause the saw to violently
kick back towards the user.
Check that the blade screen closes when the saw is lifted
from the item.
Release the depth adjustment screw and raise the saw as
far as possible.
