6.3 Maintenance and inspection

CAUTION!
 Before cleaning the exterior casing of the voltage amplifier, turn off the power switch and
unplug the power plug. Failure to do so may result in a fire or electrical shock.
 Clean the exterior casing using a damp cloth that has been firmly wrung out. Do not use
alcohols, benzene, paint thinner or other flammable substances. If flammable substances
come into contact with an electrical component inside the voltage amplifier, this may result in a
fire or electrical shock.

6.4 Environmental conditions

The amplifier can be used:
 indoors only
 at an altitude of up to 2000 m
 at a temperature between: 5 and 35 °C
 at a relative humidity between: 5 and 95 % (non-condensing)
The recommended environmental conditions:
 indoors only
 at an altitude of up to 2000 m
 at a temperature between: 20 and 22 °C
 at a relative humidity between: 5 and 80 % (non-condensing)

Handling

"Offset"
With the potentiometer "Offset" a static voltage signal can be generated. With the potentiometer
the whole voltage range from 0 to +150 V can be adjusted manual. The voltage is shown on the
LC-display. The LE 150/100 EBW can be driven as voltage source without an external waveform
generator.
If an external waveform generator is connected via the modulation input "Signal in" with the
LE 150/100 EBW the signal can be moved with the potentiometer. Adjustments at the waveform
generator are not necessary.
"Amplitude"
With the potentiometer "Signal Amplitude" the input signal can be amplified. The
LE 150/100 EBW has the possibility to operate with different input signal levels. The max. input
signal is +10 V.
For a +5 V input signal turn the potentiometer to its topmost left position to reach the maximum
output voltage of +150 V. For any input signal above +5 V at first turn the potentiometer "Signal
Amplitude" to its topmost right position. Drive the amplifier with a square wave 0.5 Hz, 0 to +10 V.
Turn now slowly the potentiometer "Signal Amplitude" to the left and check, when the LCD shows
the desired maximum output voltage. The necessary gain for the input signal is set. The operating
input signal can be applied now.
