Care and cleaning of the electrode
The electrode is the sensor used to determine the
pH or mV value in the water. For this reason it should
be handled with special care.
Never push the electrode into the sand to test the
pH or mV value of the soil as the sensitive glass
sphere could be destroyed and the damage cannot
be repaired (1).
In operation, the electrode should be immersed
half way into the water. The cable and the screw
connections must not come into contact with water.
The cable of the electrode should not be bent or
mechanically strained.
Heavy contamination of the electrode with algae
falsifies the value measured. Please mount the
electrode in a dark location.
A soiled or algae-contaminated electrode must
not be cleaned mechanically as the sensitive
glass membrane or the platinum layer would be
destroyed (2).
Utilisation et entretien de l'électrode
La précision de la mesure pH ou mV est déterminée
par l'électrode. Pour cette raison, il est important de
lui accorder un soin tout particulier.
N'enfoncez jamais l'électrode dans le sable afin d'y
mesurer le pH ou le potentiel redox (1). La surface
fragile en verre pourrait être endommagée ce qui
annulerait toute garantie.
Pour son utilisation, l'électrode doit se trouver
immergée à moitié. Le câble et les raccordements
ne doivent pas entrer en contact avec l'eau
Ne pliez pas le câble de l'électrode ou ne l'utilisez
pas pour le maintien de l'électrode.
Les algues recouvrant l'électrode contribuent à de
grandes erreurs de mesure. Si possible, montez
l'électrode en un endroit sombre.
Ne nettoyez jamais mécaniquement une électrode
sale
ou
recouverte
fragiles en verre ou en platine pourraient être
endommagées (2).
