Application range and functional principle

The compact and digital Calex pyrometers from the FL - Si/ GAi-series are especially
designed for industrial purposes.
This device is suitable for high temperature measurement of many different surfaces for example
metals, ceramics or graphite.
The solid body in stainless steel housing allows usage even under rough environmental
conditions. The fi bre optics cable and optical head can withstand ambient temperatures up to
250°C. The FL - Si/ GAi allows to measure objects with spot sizes from 1.6 mm up. Depending on
the chosen optical head measuring distances from 80 mm to 1000 mm can be realised.
The FL - Si/ GAi comes with an impressive fast response time of only 20 ms (t
possesses a service interface at the rear side. Connecting the optional Programming Terminal
HP 04 or the interface AT - 301 USB with the service port makes it possible to adjust emissivity,
temperature sub-range and response time independently.
The pilot light enables to focus the measuring object exactly. The size of the pilot light is identical
to the measuring fi eld.
Both wires of a two-wire device will be used simultaneously for power supply and transmitting of
the measuring signal. The infrared radiation of the measured object will be displayed on a detector
and transferred in an electrical signal. This signal will be digitally processed and transferred in the
standard temperature linear signal of 4 ... 20 mA. This allows integrating FL Si/ GAi in existing
measuring and controlling systems. The devices will be delivered with plug connector by default.
