1.2.1 Use instructions according to PFG no. 41300304

Based on the measurement results and the notes contained in test report
PFG no. 41300304P, the portable gas warning device ORION
AUER GmbH is suitable for measuring carbon monoxide up to 500 ppm CO, hydrogen
sulphide up to 100 ppm H
2
O (for the purpose of monitoring ambient air for lack or excess of oxygen), provided

its characteristics and design match the documents specified in test report
PFG no. 41300304P, it is operated accordingly, and the following conditions are met:
- The operating instructions submitted to and checked by EXAM must be followed.
During operation of the gas warning device, the specified operating conditions must
be complied with.
- Before using the gas warning device, the operators must check whether the set
times, particularly taking account of connected probes, are sufficiently small to
ensure that the warning function triggered by the device is activated quickly enough
to ensure that hazardous situations are avoided. If necessary, the alarm threshold
should be set well below the safety limit (for oxygen it may have to be set above
the limit), depending on the application.
- The correct display of the measuring ranges for toxic gases must be checked using
test gases on a daily basis.
- The function sound must be activated.
- BG information BGI 836 (5) must be followed.
- The units are equipped with a permanent nameplate containing information about the
manufacturer, the type, the serial number, and the following label:
„PFG no. 41300304".
Other labelling requirements are unaffected. With this nameplate, the manufacturing
company confirms that the units have the characteristics and technical features
described in this report. Units without this nameplate do not comply with this report.
- A complete copy of this report and of test report PFG no. 41300304P must be made
available to the operator on request.
