8. Final installation of the metal detector

• Install the search probe (1) with the attachment screw (2) at the lower guide tube (3). Tighten the fastening screw without
tools only until the search probe can be adjusted at any angle to the lower guide tube, and remains in that position.
• Coil the cable of the search probe (1) 3-4 times loosely around the guide tube to the operating unit (5). Plug in the plug of the
search probe into the socket on the rear of the operating unit.
• For this, push the lower guide tube (3) into the sleeve (4), shorten the tube for your needs and fasten the lower guide tube by
turning the sleeve counter-clockwise.
• Install the upper guide tube (6) to this unit above the operating unit (5). For this, push the guide tube with arm holder into the
tube right above the operating unit (5), adjust the arm rest into a position that is comfortable for you and fasten it with the
knurled screw there.
• Shorten the metal detector to your needs. For this, the lower guide tube can be adjusted by opening the con-
nection sleeve (4) clockwise, adjusting the length and then closing it again counter-clockwise. Set the lower
guide tube (3) so that you can stand upright with the metal detector. The search probe should be approx. 3 to 5
cm above the ground and your arm should be resting on it relaxedly (see figure 2).

9. Inserting the batteries

• To insert the batteries, remove the battery compartment lid on the rear of the oper-
ating unit. Push the latching lever at the edge of the battery compartment lid at the
grooved areas at the left and right and push off the lid to the side.
• Now insert two 9 V-batteries into one battery compartment each. Be sure to
observe the correct polarity of the individual batteries (observe the plus/+ and
minus/- marks in the battery compartment).
• Then insert the battery compartment lid again and let the latching levers latch
properly when pushing on.
