4.3. Controls (see page 6)
All connections and controls are located on the rear of the
speaker. All speakers are fitted with practical carrying handles.
Speaker transport wheels enable easy transport.
(1)
Speakon jacks on the satellite speakers (configuration 1+/1-)
(2)
Connector jacks for satellite speakers. Please use standard
Speakon cables to connect up with the first system. Both
jacks are connected internally in parallel. One of the two
jacks can be used to connect (loop through) another
satellite speaker. The minimum impedance for the system is
4 ohms per side (left + right channels). That means that you
can connect two satellite speakers at any time, each with 8
ohms per side.
(3)
Speakon jacks on ch1 subwoofer
This Speakon jack is connected to the amplifier output via a
standard Speakon cable.
If you are working with two subwoofers, this jack is not
used. (Configuration 1+/1-)
(4)
Speakon jacks on ch2 subwoofer
This Speakon jack is connected to the amplifier output via a
standard Speakon cable.
If you are working with two subwoofers, only this jack is
used. Jack (3) is not used. (Configuration 1+/1-)
(5)
Speakon jacks on the subwoofer for satellite speakers
Connector jack for satellite speaker. Please use standard
Speakon cables to connect up with the first system. The
minimum impedance for the system is 4 ohms per side (left
+ right channels). That means that you can connect two
satellite speakers at any time, each with 8 ohms per side. If
you are working with two subwoofers, only jack (5) is used.
Jack (6) is not used. (Configuration 1+/1-)
(6)
Speakon jacks on the subwoofer for satellite speakers
Connector jacks for satellite speaker. Please use standard
Speakon cables to connect up with the first system. The
minimum impedance for the system is 4 ohms per side (left
+ right channels). That means that you can connect two
satellite speakers at any time, each with 8 ohms per side. If
you are working with two subwoofers, jack (6) is not used.
(Configuration 1+/1-)
!
Using jacks (3)+(4) by mistake instead of (5)+(6)
switches off the amplifiers connected!

(7)
Switch (mode - subwoofer settings)
Recessed mode switch to protect from incorrect use. This
switch is for switching the integral crossover from stereo
mode with one subwoofer to a mode using two subwoofers.
Please always make sure that this switch is in the correct
position.
1 x bassbox (1x subwoofer)
Press recessed switch (7) with a pointed object e.g.
pencil:
>Status display turns black.
2 x bassbox (2x subwoofer)
Press recessed switch (7) with a pointed object e.g.
pencil::
>Status display turns orange.
!
Moving the switch to the incorrect position (7)
may switch off the amplifiers connected!
4.2. Option: Controller FC•3
Brief description:
The FC•3
is a 2-way stereo crossover with integral 3-
PRO
band limiter for bass, mid and high frequencies. The
fullrange stereo, 2-way stereo and mono-bass modes can be
selected from the back of the unit. There are two
potentiometers located on the front of the unit that are for
adjusting the bass level to that of the mid-high loudspeaker
and for horn correction. The bass controller enables you to
adjust the volume of the bass at any time to suit the room
size or the music.
Internal signal processing is analogue.
There are 16 digital stored subwoofer and mid-high speaker
presets available for configuring the unit to incorporate the
speakers being used. These presets were programmed during
manufacture.
The CAS procedure is used when configuring the controller
to incorporate the amplifiers. The volume and the maximum
output power of the amplifiers are measured by an integral
computer via a standard speaker cable with 4-pin Speakon
connector.
Measuring is carried out simply by pressing a button before
the speakers are connected to the amplifiers; no previous
technical knowledge is required, no sound is generated and
the process takes no longer than 60 seconds. The measured
amplifier data are calculated in combination with the 32
presets and are stored in an EEPROM. The data is also stored
after the power is switched off and can remain stored for a
minimum of 40 years. The unit does not require a battery to
store this data.
Once the measuring process is completed, a sensing line is
no longer required.
LEDs indicate which channels were measured successfully.
