12.4 Integrated descaling programme

The integrated descaling programme removes limescale in the interior of the
appliance. It requires a total of approximately 30 minutes. The symbol for descaling
flashes during the entire process.
Prerequisite: The appliance must be switched off (see „Switching on and off"
on page 54).
Caution!
– Carry out the integrated descaling programme every 3 months or when the
descaling symbol
– Only use Melitta
descaling products are specifically designed for the Melitta
SOLO &milk.

– Never use vinegar or other descaling agents.
Note
To avoid spillings out off the steam pipe during the descaling process, we
suggest to use the additional tube (enclosed in welcome pack). Please slip
the tube approx. 0.5 - 1 cm over the steam pipe as shown in Fig. J) and place
the coffee grounds container right hand-side next to the machine (to prevent
bending of tube). Now the descaling process can be started without spilling.
Run the integrated descaling programme as follows:
1 Before descaling, remove – if used – the Melitta
from the water tank (see page 55).
2 Simultaneously press the button for steam dispensing
