g Operating Instruction
Document shredder SCD 611L, automatic
The SCD 611L is equipped with an attached 11-litre
basket to catch shredded paper as well as a smaller
basket to catch shredded CDs and plastic cards.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Read all instructions thoroughly before using
the machine.
2. Place the cable in such a way that no one will
trip over it.
3. Never open the housing of the shredder.
4. Do not operate the device if it is wet.
5. Remove the plug from the socket when the
device is not in use.
6. Stop using the machine if there is damage to
the cable, housing or holder.
INSTALLATION:
1. Remove all packaging materials from the
device.
2. Place the shredder on a stable, even surface.
3. Connect the power cable to a 220-240 V~
outlet.
4. Set the switch to "AUTO".

OPERATION MODES:

Using the switch on the device, select one of the
following modes.
AUTO – On this setting, the shredder switches itself on
automatically as soon as you insert paper into the paper
feeder and switches itself off automatically when there
is no more paper.
FWD – With this setting, the feed function is set to
continuous. This makes the shredder run continuously
instead of stopping after every sheet. You can also use
this setting to shred CDs and plastic cards.
Make sure that the separate collection container for
shredded CDs and plastic cards is properly inserted in
the guide rails on the underside of the housing.
REV – In the unlikely case of paper being trapped in the
cutter, the reverse function allows you to remove the
blockage.
CLEAR – After the shredding procedure, press this
button to remove any scraps of paper that remain in the
cutter.

SLITTING CAPACITY:
The SCD 611L can shred up to 6 sheets of 80 g/m² paper
with a maximum width of 220 mm at the same time.
A FOLDED SHEET OF PAPER IS THE EQUIVALENT OF
TWO SHEETS!
WARNING:
1. Make sure you do not insert objects such
as clothes, ties, jewellery or hair into the
paper feeder.
2. Remove the mains plug if the shredder is not
to be used for a longer period of time.
3. Remove any paper clips and staples from the
paper before shredding. The shredder will
not break if you forget to do this once.
However, you should normally avoid this.
4. Keep hands and fi ngers away from the
underside of the shredder during operation
and especially from the cutting rollers, as
this can cause serious injury.
5. Do not exceed more than 20 shredding
procedures at a time. If you happen to have a
large quantity of paper to shred, we
recommend that you switch off the shredder
and wait about 20 minutes before switching
the shredder back on.
6. The socket you use should be close to the
shredder and easily accessible.
7. Remove the mains plug before moving or
cleaning the shredder or emptying the paper
basket.
8. Empty the paper basket regularly.
PAPER BLOCKAGE AND OVERLOAD PROTECTION:
The SCD 611L has a motor with an overload prevention
function. The normal operating cycle for uninterrupted
shredding activity is 20 shredding procedures followed
by 20 minutes switched off. The shredder may switch
itself off automatically in the following cases:
1. If the shredder is used for more than 20
shredding procedures at a time.
2. If it becomes overloaded due to more than 6
sheets of paper being fed into the shredder
at a time, or if the paper is not fed into the
shredder evenly.
