Slide the saw blades 12 apart in longitudinal direction ()
and, one after the other, pull them out of the saw blade guide
19 (). When attempting to remove both saw blades at the
same time, the saw blades block each other.
Dust/Chip Extraction
 Dusts from materials such as lead-containing coatings,
some wood types, minerals and metal can be harmful to
one's health. Touching or breathing-in the dusts can cause
allergic reactions and/or lead to respiratory infections of
the user or bystanders.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are considered
as carcinogenic, especially in connection with wood-treat-
ment additives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials
containing asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
– As far as possible, use a dust extraction system suitable
for the material.
– Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the
materials to be worked.
Extraction Duct (see figure F)
Hook on the extraction duct 8 at the housing below handle 6
and allow it to engage onto the catches 10.
To remove the extraction duct 8, spread it at the catches 10
and remove toward the rear.
Connecting the Dust Extraction
Insert a vacuum hose (diameter 35 mm; accessory) into the
vacuum connection 7. Connect the vacuum hose to a vacuum
cleaner (accessory).
An overview for connecting to different vacuum cleaners can
be found at the end of these operating instructions.
The vacuum cleaner must be suitable for the material being
worked.
When vacuuming dry dust that is especially detrimental to
health or carcinogenic, use a special vacuum cleaner.
Operation
Starting Operation
 Observe correct mains voltage! The voltage of the pow-
er source must agree with the voltage specified on the
nameplate of the machine. Power tools marked with
230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Switching On and Off
 When switching on the machine, the saw blades may
not face against or touch anything.
Two switch on the machine, press and hold the safety switch
4 on the left or right and then press the On/Off switch 5.
To switch off the machine, release the On/Off switch 5.
When working longer periods at low stroke rate, the machine
can heat up considerably. Remove the saw blades and cool
down the machine by running it for approx. 3 minutes at max-
imum stroke rate.
To save energy, only switch the power tool on when using it.

Presetting the Stroke Rate
With the thumbwheel for stroke rate preselection 3, the
stroke rate can be preset and changed during operation.
1–2:
Low stroke rate
3–4:
Medium stroke rate
5–6:
High stroke rate
The required stroke rate is dependent on the material and the
working conditions and can be determined by a practical trial.
Working Advice
 Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
 When sawing light building materials, observe the stat-
utory provisions and the recommendations of the ma-
terial suppliers.
Check wood, press boards, building materials, etc. for foreign
objects such as nails, screws or similar, and remove them, if
required.
Clamp the workpiece firmly. Under no circumstances should
the workpiece be held with the hand or foot.
 The top and bottom of the cutting path must be free of
obstructions.
Only remove the saw blade guard 11 for sawing.
Hold the switched-on machine firmly when applying it to the
workpiece. Pay attention not to come into contact with the
ground or inadvertently touch other objects (danger of kick-
back).
After finishing the working procedure, switch the power tool
off.
In case the saw blades become jammed, switch off the ma-
chine immediately. Widen the sawing cut somewhat with a
suitable tool and pull out the machine.
Do not use the sword 1 to pry away sawn off wood pieces, etc.
Plunge Cutting (see figures G – H)
 Plunge cuts may only be applied to soft materials, such
as wood, gypsum plaster boards, etc.!
Place the machine with the tip of the saw blade facing against
the workpiece and switch on. While sawing carefully, allow
the sword to plunge into the workpiece until it is sawn
through.
Hold the machine well inclined to the workpiece and continue
to saw alongside the cutting line.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning

 Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
 For safe and proper working, always keep the machine
and ventilation slots clean.
Clean the sword 1, the saw blade guide 19 and the saw blades
12 after finishing the work.
The saw blades 12 and the saw blade guide 19 may not be lu-
bricated, as this would impair dust extraction.
