Diagram for Determination of the most Favourable Impact Duration
The diagram shows the tightening torque in relation to the impact duration, both for hard and soft seats.
GDS 24
Hard seat (Example)
The highest tightening torque is reached after an impact duration of approx. 10 s.
Soft seat (Example)
The highest tightening torque is not reached until after approx. 22 s of impact duration.
GDS 30
Hard seat (Example)
The highest tightening torque is reached after an impact duration of approx. 6 s.
Soft seat (Example)
The highest tightening torque is not reached until after approx. 26 s of impact duration.
The data are mean values and vary depending
on the application; the tightening torque is to be
checked with a torque wrench.
