Installation

The HELIX P-DSP must be connected to the
head unit (radio) as follows:
Caution: Carrying out the following steps will re-
quire special tools and technical knowledge. In or-
der to avoid connection mistakes and/or damage,
ask your dealer for assistance if you have any que-
stions and follow all instructions in this manual.
It is recommended that this unit be professionally
installed only by an authorized HELIX dealer.
1. Connecting pre-amplifier inputs
Use the correct cable (cinch cable, not included)
to connect these inputs to the radio pre amplifier
outputs. The inputs can be assigned as desired
as this is feasible in the software. The automated
turn-on circuit does not function when using the
pre-amplifier inputs. The remote input terminal
must be connected to activate the P-DSP unit.
Please note that simultaneous use of high level
and pre-amplifier inputs may result in damage.
2. Connecting high level loudspeaker inputs
Please note: The optional EASY PLUG cable
(Art.-No. H424909) or adaptor cable PP-SC 0.5
(Art.-No. H424907) is essential if this signal in-
put is used (see Fig. 1 abd Fig. 3). Using any
other cable may cause malfunctions.
The high level loudspeaker inputs may be con-
nected directly to the OEM or aftermarket radio
loudspeaker outputs using the correct cable
(loudspeaker cable, not included). All inputs
need not be used.
Make sure of correct polarity - (see Fig. 1). If
one or more connections have incorrect polari-
ty this may cause processor malfunction. If this
input is used the remote input need not be as
the processor switches automatically once a
loudspeaker signal is received.

3. Connection to power supply
Connect to a power supply using only the power
cable supplied - (see Fig. 2). Make sure of cor-
rect polarity. The black earth wire (B) must be
connected to the vehicle chassis at an insulated
point. Inadequate earthing causes interference
and malfunctions.
The red positive wire (A) is to be connected to
the battery positive post or a power districu-
tion block. The white remote wire (C) must be
connected to the radio remote output if the pro-
cessor pre-amplifier inputs are used as signal
inputs. We do not recommend controlling the re-
mote input via the switched ignition wire to avo-
id interference and shutdowns. If the high level
inputs are used this cable needn't be connected.
In such a case make sure the cable is well insu-
lated and makes no contact with vehicle ground.
4. Connecting the remote output
This output is used to supply remote signals to
the amplifier/s. Please always use this remote
output signal for switching the amplifier/s on to
avoid on/off switching noise. Use it only with the
blue remote cable supplied.
Once you have double-checked the wiring, con-
nect the provided plugs for the power supply (1)
and for the remote input signal (2) to the P-DSP.
