Initial start-up and functions
Line Inputs
1
6-channel pre-amplifier input to connect signal
sources such as radios. Input sensitivity is 3 volts
and is not variable. If you have a signal source
varying by over a volt from this value then we
recommend downloading a different operating soft-
ware on our homepage and updating the P-DSP
via a MicroSD card (see page 17).
Highlevel Input
2
4-channel high level loudspeaker input
Use this input to connect the processor directly to
loudspeaker outputs on an OEM or aftermarket ra-
dio that does not have any pre-amplifier outputs.
This connection serves as signal input for the EASY
PLUG cable (P/N H424909) accessory.
3
Optical Input
Optical input in SPDIF format for connection to si-
gnal sources with a digital audio output. The sam-
pling rate of this input must be between 6 and 192
kHz. The input signal is automatically adjusted to
the internal sampling rate.
4
Power Input
These contacts are used to connect the processor
to the power supply of the vehicle.
Attention: Connection may only be via the po-
wer supply cable supplied. Using any other ca-
ble may damage the device.
These contacts include a remote input and output.
If the high-level loudspeaker inputs are used, the
remote input need not be used. The remote output
is used to control amplifier switching on and off via
the processor. Connect this remote output to your
amplifier remote inputs.
5
USB Input
This mini USB input is used to connect a computer
with the supplied USB cable.
6
MicroSD card reader
The Micro SD card reader can be used to download
firmware and software updates as well as complete
DSP setup files containing all DSP settings. The se-
tup file is copied automatically to the P-DSP when
the card's inserted. Copying is shown by the sta-
tus LED (9) blinking red; when it reverts to green or
orange copying has been completed. Once the file's
been copied the card must be removed.
Attention: Do not remove the MicroSD card du-
ring copying.
The P-DSP can handle two different setup files.
These files have "af1", "ac1", "af2" or "ac2" suffixes.
Use the control button (7) to toggle between them.
Please note: Only one "af1" or "af2" setup file may
be on the card. Firm- and software updates are
available from www.audiotec-fischer.com or
www.helixhifi.com (US).
7
Control Pushbutton
The control pushbutton allows the user to switch
between two loaded setup profiles, „af1" and „af2".
To switch between the setups, the button must be
pressed and held for 1 second. Switching is indi-
cated by a singular red flash of the Status-LED (9).
Pressing the button for 5 seconds completely era-
ses the internal memory. This is indicated by a con-
stant flashing of the Status-LED (8).
Attention: After erasing the setups from memo-
ry the P-DSP will not reproduce any audio out-
put.
Please note: The P-DSP is delievered in factory
mode with two identical setup files, which differ only
in their file extensions.
8
Status LED
The Status LED indicates the current active DSP-
setup. Green means that setup 1 (af1) is loaded,
orange means that setup 2 (af2) is loaded.
A flashing red light indicates that no setup is loaded.
9
Control Input
This multifunctional input is used to connect the
HELIX DSP accessories, like the „HELIX Bluetooth
Interface".
10
Line Outputs
8-channel pre-amplifier output
These are used to connect amplifiers. The Output
voltage is max. 4 Volts. The outputs can be assi-
gned inputs as desired in the DSP PC Tool software.
