Grounding Installation
This appliance is classified as protective class I and
must be connected to a protective ground.
Grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by
providing an escape wire for the electric current.
Preparations before first use
• Check to make sure the appliance is undamaged.
In case of any damage, contact your supplier im-
mediately and do NOT use the appliance.
• Remove all the packing material.
• Clean the body, grid and crumb tray with luke-
warm water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth.
Don't clean the heating elements.
• Level the appliance.
• Make sure that a clearance of 15 to 20 cm is
maintained left and right of the appliance for ven-
tilation purposes.
Preparations before wall mounting (Optional for item 264119 only)
Before installation: check the salamander and it's
brackets for any damage. Note: mounting screws
and tools are not included
• Important: make sure the appliance is mounted
within the reach of the electrical outlet.
• Important: do not mount the salamander on dry-
wall or paneling without first anchoring to a wall
stud!
• Important: Before starting mounting, make sure
you have all the tools, such as screw driver, elec-
tric drills, measuring tape, marking pencil (All
are not included).
• The hinged distance is about 380mm between the
screws.
• The salamander must be securely anchored on
a wall by attaching two of the brackets with 1/4"
bolts to the centre of an interior vertical wall stud
and the other two brackets to the wall using 1/4"
expanding toggle bolts. (not included)
Use
• Connect the plug with an electrical socket.
• Place the crumb tray in the appliance.
• Rotate the temperature dial (lower dial) to start
heating.
• The orange light will go on until the desired tem-
perature is reached.
This appliance is equipped with a cord having a
grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug
must be plugged into an electrical outlet that is
properly installed and grounded.
• Position the appliance in such a way that the plug
is accessible at all times.
ATTENTION! After cleaning the appliance must be
turned on for 30 minutes without anything in it. Any
smoke or odours produced during this procedure
are normal. Please ensure sufficient ventilation.
After the 30 minutes let the machine cool down and
rinse the grid in water and dry all parts. Don't clean
the heating elements.
• Locating wall studs: anchoring the brackets on a
wall stud assures that your salamander will not
pry loose during operation. Wall studs are spaced
either 16 or 24 inches on center running floor to
ceiling as part of a wood structure's framing. It is
recommended to use an electric stud finder (sold
separately) to locate wood (or steel) studs more
quickly and accurately for the location where you
want to mount the salamander. Note: be aware
that items such as ducts, electrical wires and
water pipes may be behind the walls in your work
area. Special care when installing fasteners.
• For attaching the salamander securely to other
wall surfaces such as concrete or brick, see your
local hardware store for recommendations on
using the appropriate concrete and masonry fas-
teners and anchors for your particular structure.
• After you have mounted the bolts, simply slide in
the salamander from the top onto the bolts.
• Rotate the timer to the desired time.
Note: The orange light might go on when the tem-
perature drops, the machine will start reheating till
the desired temperature is reached again.
