manual are included to help with this selection. In general, most PMR446 radios use the
same 8 channels and many brands allow CTCSS subcode operation with the same standard
CTCSS code numbers 01 –38.

Monitor button

Pressing and holding the MON button lets you hear white noise so you can adjust the volume
level of the radio level when not receiving a signal. The MON should be used to check
activity on current channel before transmitting, and in cases where the connection to another
station becomes weak and interrupted.

Time out Timer

The Time-out Timer (TOT) feature helps extend battery life by preventing accidental
continuous transmission. The radio will emit a warning tone if the PTT button is pressed
continuously for 60 seconds and the radio will stop transmitting.

Power Selection

Your radio has two transmit power levels, 500 mW and appr. 50 mW. To select the power
levels:
• Press MENU until the P.HIGH or P.LOW icon flashes.
• Press UP or DOWN to select between high and low power levels.
• Press the PTT button for save and exit.
Note: Please use low power wherever it is possible. Transmitting with Hi Power will result in
much higher power consumption and will drain Your batteries much faster compared to low
power position. In many situations, where the communication distance is not so long, it is
more than enough to use the LOW power position (50 mW)

Keypad Lock

To avoid accidentally changing radio operation, press MENU for minimum 3 seconds. The

Call Tone

Your PMR radio has 10 different call tones available. To select the call tone:

• Press UP or DOWN to change the call tone. The new call tone will be heard over the
speaker.
• Press MENU or the PTT button to save the new call tone and exit the menus.
Note: Setting the call tone to 0 disables the call tone function.

Whenever you release the PTT button, a "Roger Beep" tone may be transmitted to let your
