7. OPERATION

a) Replacing and changing batteries

Install the provided batteries before starting measurements.
When switching on the product, the display will show the battery status first. In addition to that, a battery icon in
the lower right corner of the display permanently indicates the battery capacity.

• Disconnect the product from all power circuits and
switch it off.
• Unlock the battery compartment on the bottom
of the product. To do so, use a small coin or wide
screwdriver and turn anticlockwise, until the marking
is aligned with the open lock symbol.
• Pull out the battery compartment lid.
• Insert two new batteries of the same type, observing
correct polarity. Please pay attention to the polarity
markings inside the battery compartment lid (+ and -).
• Close the battery compartment carefully and lock it in
reverse order.
Never operate the product when open. DANGER TO LIFE!
Do not leave exhausted batteries inside the product; even leak-protected batteries can corrode and
thereby release chemicals that are harmful to health and can damage the product.
Do not leave batteries lying about unattended. Children or pets may swallow batteries left lying
about. If a battery has been swallowed, seek medical advice immediately.
Remove the batteries when not using the product for a longer period of time, in order to prevent
leakage.
Leaking or damaged batteries may cause chemical burns if they come into contact with your skin.
Wear suitable protective hand wear when handling such batteries.
Never short-circuit batteries. Do not throw batteries into fire.
Never charge or dismantle batteries. There is risk of fire or explosion.
