USER MANUAL:
1 ]
Make sure that the machine is switched off (see Figure A; the switch
on the machine should be pushed to the back). Move the needle
arm to its top position using the adjusting wheel. Note: The
adjusting wheel can turn in either direction (see Fig. 1).
Lift the attachment plate without pressing the needle arm down
2 ]
(the arm can also be moved when the machine is switched off;
however, this should be avoided). Place the fabric under the
attachment plate (see Fig. 2). Loosen the attachment plate.
Before sewing, make sure that a thread end at least 5 cm (2")
3 ]
in length runs through the needle from the back to the front. For
threading instructions, please refer to the "Threading" section.
Hold the handheld sewing machine in your right hand. Place your
4 ]
thumb on the switch (On/Off) and hold the machine from below
with your fingers (see Fig. 3).
5 ]
Slide the switch forwards with your thumb to switch the machine
on. Pull the fabric through the machine with your left hand to
control the direction and speed of sewing. Make sure that you
do not pull the fabric through the machine too quickly. If you want
to create larger stitches, pull the fabric slightly to the left while
sewing. A straight stitch is obtained by following the center line on
the attachment plate (see Fig. 4).
At the end of the seam, move the needle to the top position using
6 ]
the adjusting wheel (see Fig. 1) and pull about 7.5 cm (3") of
thread out. The easiest way to do this is with the handle of a seam
ripper or the blunt part of a pair of scissors (see Fig. 5).
7 ]
Lower the needle into the fabric and turn the adjusting wheel until
the needle arm is in the top position again.
Lift the attachment plate and pull the fabric to the left. MAKE
8 ]
SURE THAT YOU DO NOT PULL THE THREAD OUT OF
THE SEAM.
