TIPPS AND TROUBLESHOOTING

Should a bean become stuck in the grinding mechanism, you may fix this yourself as follows:
1
Switch the grinder off (switch in off position). Unplug the power chord.
2
Take off the bean hopper and remove (with the vacuum cleaner) the remaining coffee beans from the grinding
mechanism. Remember or note the current grind setting on the number scale.
3
Loosen the upper burr by turning it counter-clockwise by approx. two full turns.
4
Reconnect the power cord and switch on the grinder. (Do not reach into the grinding mechanism.) The grinding
mechanism operates again.
5
Switch off the grinder again and disconnect the power cord to interrupt the current entry.
6
Now turn back the upper burr clockwise by approx. two full turns.
7
Reconnect the power cord, switch on the grinder and replace the bean hopper. The grinder is ready for use
again.
In case the coffee shaft of your grinder is plugged due to too fine a grind (depending on temperature, humidity, fat
and oil content of the respective coffee), please take the following steps to solve the problem:
1
Switch the grinder off, switch in „off" position. Unplug the power chord.
2
Close the side bar of the bean hopper, so that no further beans can drop into the grinding area of the grinder.
3
Take off the coffee spout of the grinder and remove the grounds which have plugged the grid.
4
Remember or note the current grind setting on the number scale. Increase the grind setting by one number, so
the beans remaining in the grinding section can pass through without resistance.
5
Plug the power chord of the grinder back in and turn on the grinder.
6
Start the grinding process as usual by pressing the contact spring. The remaining coffee grounds should now
come out of the chute easily. Manually clean the entire chute with a suitable tool again (unplug the power cord).
Activate the grind switch until no further grounds come out. If necessary, manually clean the spout again.
Reassemble the spout.
7
Open the slide bar of the bean hopper.
8
Re-calibrate the grind setting with the grinding time as required during the next few grinds. A coarser grind can
be compensated by using more ground coffee or by tamping harder.
Problem
Sparse coffee dispensing, only drop
by drop
Little or no crema on top of the
coffee
Weak "body"
Foam instead of crema
The grinder motor is working, but
no ground coffee is falling out of the
spout.
